How long does ebay keep money in their possession
 

I got my own personal ebay account restricted 3 months ago.
How long does ebay keep money in their possession. I know paypal its 180 days, but since ebay changed, I dont know how long its for ebay.

I talked to ebay on chat but these morons would not give me an answer. They kept telling me to check my MC restriction message.

anywhere from 60-90 days actually based on reports in general

I was just quoted by eBay, 60 to 72 days after the account is suspended they will refund held funds

If its 90 days, I checked my messages and my account was limited on Dec 5th.

It was the normal mc011. They want to proof my ID and invoices.

I called in to ebay to ask why account was suspended, obviously thy wouldn't tell me, then I asked when i can have my money, the rep said 60 days it would be released.

The funds were sent to my MP bank account on the 61st day (my account was verified)

Generally speaking they should be released within 60 - 72 days on a verified account.

ugh... that's not really what they wanted.

But doesn't hurt to give them what they want and might get lucky.

ebay will release the money on verified accounts and if the user is located in a major western country which is the case with 90%+ of all sellers then they could force ebay to release the money even if they refuse , the same applies to amazon too , in most cases they do not have any reasons to hold on to the money as they lack any evidence of wrongdoing and they do not want these issues to go to court

it might even be sufficient to send a statutory demand in the UK or Mahnbescheid in Germany without going to court

It usually take 60-90 days for your money to be released.

if ebay are unable to verify your information do they keep the money or send it to the department of state?

Its my own personal info, and I hope not, its about $6k total. If they send it to the state is just more added time.

This is incorrect, they will always release on verified accounts (my experience)

If Ebay would not release the fund if it cant verify infor,how is the state going t o verify?

The state will verify it by SSN and ID. I've done it before.
