I have deleted and replaced bank details on many accounts.

This is easily done.

You have to use a real bank account as a real sort code and made up account number will not work.

You go to add new payment method and input new bank details, then eb will ask you to input old account number for security reasons. Eb will also send sms to your phone (email verification is not possible for this).
Bank verification is not needed to add new bank account, but your payouts will be placed on hold.

They will send out microdeposits again for verification before payout hold is lifted.

Ok I removed my old bank account but first I had to add a new one first. I entered a real routing number and put in a made up bank account number. and it took. it will show the notification in white text inside of a green bar. I'll abandon the account. I have 80 positive feedback. 1 neutral and 0 negative. but ebay wants an id and they want a signed copy of my 1099 tax form so sad. oh well I guess I'll start a new account soon. I pray it works out.

Sounds like you pretty much killed the account by now.

Yes do start SOME new accounts, not just 1 .

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

yes , as I said before replacing with any details that look real is not a problem at all if account does not need to be verified. Hank was always full of crap with his made up stories spreading false info here regularly and this is just another piece of proof for this

For me, on a newly created account, it did not accept a random account number even though the sort code was correct.

not random but non existing , it might need to fit the formula as the combination of account / sort code is easily checked for validity , there are free sites that can do it too
