new account

I'm starting a new account. I'm gonna list something soon maybe this coming Sunday. any tips on starting this new account? should I browse for 7 weeks before listing anything?

thanks love you

Re: new account

I don't think browsing for 7 weeks is necessary. Would a real person do that?

Re: new account

Any new account will get suspended doesn’t matter if your browse or not

Re: new account

I like browsing and bidding for 2-4 weeks but that's my play - 7 is long

Re: new account

well I browsed around for a couple of days. I added my phone number today and address. I listed my first item a toy from a popular cartoon. my selling limits are 50 items or $700.00USD (whichever comes first) I pray it works out. thanks love you

first 2 were Asian women last was white male and all told me i was permanently suspended. I should not have changed the user name or listed a funko pop for my first auction

IMO you don't have to wait longer than a week, just have some browsing and some random inexpensive safe items on your watch list.

Make sure your 1st item is being sold as used and under $20. and most of all safe and non-branded and using your own pictures.

Those are a death sentence for any non-established acct

Re: new account

I recommend selling a safe item and sell as an auction first $0.99 no reserve and charge shipping, do this for 3 months increasing your amount of listings.

agreed - funko pop is way too risky to sell initially

I created a lot of accounts and I list immediately after creating, and accounts sometimes suspended, sometimes not.

SaiJin 03-13-2023 04:23 PM

Re: new account

it also depends on what you're selling. It's not just one thing

JamesNorth101 03-14-2023 02:52 AM

Re: new account

7 to 10 days browsing

List a low risk 7 day auction

No brands
Keep it under $20 but over $5

Let it run and then list other items

Beautiful and simple - patient approach

I find that 7 day auction with a 0.99 start and also if you also put on the listing that the buyer can pick up the product (nobody ever does) with a safe product limits the risk of being suspended. Also if you can buy on the account and do 3 or 4 purchases really makes it a rock solid bet that the account will be successful.

You really think buying with the ACC makes a big difference from what you have experienced?

no. they told me that they couldn't tell me why but that it wasn't a good business partnership or something like that.

Do you have items shipped to your real address on a stealth?

I find that if you are willing to buy small amount items and lose the money to develop the account, just a couple of bucks, send them to the stealth address.

Yeah I agree. I actually make this a practice, and I think it helps long term. If you're spacing the purchasing out every month it's just a little added cushion. For example, 10-15 items per month for items less than $1 or $1.

I would assume majority people here say that's a waste of time but if you have limited history adding higher numbers to your feedback count, and increasing the stars is actually very beneficial. Once you're north 100 feedback it's pretty much that same as 500-1000 feedback I think. But there is defiantly a difference in what type of customers are willing to buy emotionally from you if you get over that 100+ feedback mark. Yes this is only buying feedback but I don't think many customers actually click and review it, they just see the number and percentage.

It is worth the added expense which is really nothing to begin with, and if you ever had a negative feedback that couldn't be removed those buys help with your overall percentage compounded overtime. I take feedback very seriously myself.
