MC011 Temporary restriction

Hi all I got a MC011 restriction today but it looks like a temporary restriction and they have requested ID, tracking number and invoices same old.

I am not fussed about getting the account back but I have a lot of money in the account if I simply ignore will I get my funds after a few months? Or will it be in a constant loop as I am ‘temporarily restricted’.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

If it's a verified account then you will receive the payments 60 days after suspension, I've had this on 2 accounts.

I'm not sure regarding full stealth accounts, hopefully someone with experience will chime in.

Thank you for your reply!

When you mean verified, this account has all real details so I am guessing it is verified? I know the reason I got this was due to selling high value items too fast (my mistake).

Did you have a temporary restriction? Just would like to know if I have to wait till the account if ‘fully’ restricted or does the 60 days start from the temporary restriction?

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

Verified means that you have sent a drivers license and bank statements to prove that the account holder is the same as the ID. If the account is verified they know they can be sued for return of thee monies in the small claims court. (I would not go through the arbitration process which they say is contractual when you sign up0 In the UK verified accounts that send a small claims court summons get paid out as eBay do not show up.

The waiting period is 60 to 72 days after the final letter.

If you have not had the account verified which is what they are asking for then they keep it.

You should be able to get your funds in 60-72 days as long as no violations of TOA have occurred

Thanks for your reply when you mean ‘final letter’ that would mean my current MC011 isn’t final? As it is currently a temporary restriction?

In the uk I’ve seen people get funds out after getting Mc011 and not submitting documents before.

I have been banned before on a stealth which was a silent ban as the details were all ****. I was unable to get anything out of that account.

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

You may get your money back, nothing is certain with eBay, if your stealth account can not be verified you can not take eBay to the small claims cout which is how they win and keep he funds. It is reported on here that as soon as a small claims threat is made they refund. It all is according to what if any TOA you may have violated.

Ugh... what usually happens is they'll ask for more stuff once you gave them what they asked for the first time.

It's usually a made up excuse for them to just suspend you.

I'd say you could still get your funds out but between 60-90 days unless it's a copyright issue ban.

Thanks mate it wasn’t copyright, I sold a £900 item the buyer then wanted me to cancel it so I did and Relisted it. The item sold again and bang I got MC011 I’m guessing it was because I sold £1800 in a day? And due to the £900 cancellation.

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

One thing I have seen is all of my payments that were on hold and were meant to be processed today have been extended, eBay has added an extra 30 days to the processing date.

it could be. Specially if it's a new account.

You have backup accounts yes?

Yes I do they are fine. This account was about 3 months old had sold about 7k on here.

With real details on your account, they will payout after 60 days of the final suspension email. No need to provide ID. I've had this on 2 accounts so far, on newer accounts with limited sales history it's best to go slow otherwise the bots get spooked, I had a newish business account go down after 3k sales in a week.

Thanks for this I am currently temporarily restricted so do I have to wait for the permanent restriction? Which I guess I will get soon if I don’t reply?

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

the best way to go is sending what they want. worst cases scenario is indefinite restriction or suspension

if the account is real they will pay out , copyright issues do not play a role with real accounts as ebay are fearful lawsuits

I have tried this twice and I get the same automated email back hence no point wasting time. Just want them to indefinite restrict me as I think the 60days starts then.

Just wait it out at this point.
Remember... eBay asks for docs not to help you but prevent you to ever coming back.

Yep the 60 days start after suspension, best to send in any details to speed up suspension if you can't wait.

it is a fairytale that docs are needed only to keep you outside forever , I sent in docs on many occasions and in most cases the restriction was removed

in about 10%-20% of cases I got a permanent restriction was placed or account was suspended right away

in any case sending in docs is worth it in most cases

It depends on the situation...

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

Ebay are signed up to the Financial Conduct Authority, therefore they can be reported to the finanicial ombudsman if they do not release funds. You need to get a final repsonse saying they won't release them. I guess you could just freezeframe one of ebay's helpful chatbots to get that

I'm not sure if it'd work with a stealth account, but if you have real details, and can't be bothered to hand in docs, it maybe the correct avenue to pursue.

Thanks for this what do you mean by freezeframe? And how do I do this I just want to get permanently suspended.

degsey69 03-18-2023 05:30 PM

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

Just press the screen shot button on your PC keyboard of the message that denies you payment and save as an image as evidence they are not releasing your funds.

As Degsey said you can freezeframe ebay chat response. It's different on different laptops, but you can google this. Sometimes a right click can do it on your mouse or sometimes its an f key.

I'm only talking about the UK btw, I'm not sure if ebay are under the FCA in other nations.

Its just a screenshot - should have the option on the keyboard :)

can also use snipping tool to capture conversation

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

I cant believe all the mixed answers they release the money.
However the bank account is locked in payout. You can no longer change it unless you beg the supervisor and tell them you closed the account.

*** Answer* Doesnt matter if the account is verified or not all funds are released **before*** 60 to 70 days. Ebay doesnt like keeping money unless its giftcard deposited with their ebay cards [[it says on back of ebay card that they can in the rules ]] im going to take them to court on my personal account over it cause i still have reciepts

wallstreetjimmy 03-19-2023 04:06 PM

Re: MC011 Temporary restriction

And it also doesnt matter if the account is just restricted on the seller side....timing starts on notice of suspension

Just an update I finally got permanently restricted with the normal message saying I am a risk to eBay etc hopefully the 60 days will now start to get the money out of the account

did you enter tracking number on your orders?
I would do this now,if tracking shows delivered and buyers are not going to file disputes, you may have a better chance of getting your money back

This type of message is also used on buyer,as he/she becomes a risk to Ebay seller community.
