New eBay User Private Update 24 March 2023

Anyone knows whats the chages?
I see in Section 4 / 4.1 They mention Selfie Photo.

Any several other changes I spotted what do you guys think

Yes read that, so to create new seller account or interact with ebay community.
The change in 4.1 from last privacy policy is Selfie phoro.

Dies this sound like ebay require selfie photo to create seller account?

Its a big change rite it might not required when register but if you get restricted or something then selfie is required?

Imagine if selfie take place and become a basic requirement when creating seller account eBay could be loosing a huge number of seller that will kinda make eBay market empty all of a sudden. Buyer would walk away

that's my thoughts

I think best way is to wait and see what the trend will be.

It usually takes about 1-3 months of watching and see what people will do that makes the trend.

I"m guessing they'll just grab photos of Chinese actors and give that to eBay? =P

But the selfie photo has to match the ID summited tho
If tommorow the new system takes place and all new seller accounts are required selfie this could be a big hit lets hope we are not at that point yet

The update is just strengthening the data privacy protection law that governs online data tracking and transparency, although it been around since 2018 in the EU, governments are getting more zealous about the way the data is being collected and used, for example TikTok has reportedly been doing this for the Chinese government.

So just a tighten up on privacy policy more than images being required.
