Nearly 1000 feedback account keep to have listing shutdowns for counterfeit
 

I'm trying to sell some VeRO items with an account where i'm selling on since 1 year and an half. The account has nearly 1000 feedback all from selling

It's about 6 months that every time i try to list that item, that other seller list without problem also with poor aged account, i got listing removed within two days, it's true i got many shutdowns in this months, and i'm still getting the worse scenario ( 10 days out of searching results ), but last time i waited more than a month to try relisting, with all new photos, description, title, and other.

I will try to rest the account until september now, 6 months and then i will try again, in the meanwhile i will sell other things with this. It's like eBay now tag or flag heavy then before on the accounts involved

I'm finding many different behaviours related the period before MP, what's you experience?

Last 2 months were rough... eBay hit my 3 accounts with VERO violation more than once.

Rest the accounts from any VERO products for at least 3 months, thats when the offences drop off your metrics so September will be safe to try again without account impact of a VERO hit.

You should have let the account rest and use other accounts for now.

Sounds like competitor or Vero owners are targeting you

if account gets a 3 day restriction you should remove all relevant items from sale otherwise you will be doomed soon

This year vero is much tougher than usual. That's a fact.

September is 6 months away.

Vero messages disappear after 3 months from inbox- I have tested this.

As far as vero metrics go, I do not know when the reset occurs.

Do we know for sure that the metrics are re-set?

In 2021 I got hit with a VERO complaint and was given a 3 day restriction as I'd previously has an 'educational notice' which dated back to 2019. I can't see ebay relaxing their conditions, quite the opposite, but it would be interesting to know if there was any evidence of an amnesty. Would certainly help in how we rotate and manage our accounts.

Do you remember what type of vero complaint it was? An unauthorized listing or item? Or right of publicity?

I too would be interested in learning the current metrics but if I recall correctly you have gotten accounts shut down by using the vero system. I'm a little surprised to learn that you of all people here don't know the current system, respectfully

if they are reset it does not happen quickly , certainly not within 6 months. the only real advantage of stopping sales for a while is that you may be forgotten by whoever targeted you

I don't know the current system because I don't work for ebay. Not sure how having trademarks registered with VERO to stop sellers dropshipping my wares from Amazon made you think I should. Respectfully.

Sorry, I re-read my post and realize I came across a little crass. That's not how I intended.

I just meant that in another post, I think you said you knew how to shut down (and had) shut down several accounts. I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that this was through knowledge of the VeRO system.

I apologize if I came across as rude.

because I had item removals a long time after a previous one and the ebay email said I had been warned before , if such strikes expire it is likely at least several years

I just was hit with a 30 day suspension. Ive had the account for 7 years with 10k feedback.
They sent an email with my violations dating back to January 2022 but I had some previously, just not like this.
I sent in my receipts for my items and my violation would not be lifted :(

ebay do not lift strikes for violations , 30 days means that any risky items should be removed , it can be considered as last warning. they give such a warning only to established sellers , usually 10 days is the last warning

That's odd. I had an e-mail from a successful VeRO counter notice that said any policy infraction would not be counted against me (or something to that effect) This was of course after filing a counter notice and agreeing to several things (that I could face a lawsuit, face penalty for perjury, assume all legal costs if found judgement against me was found, etc. etc.) and waiting 14 business days or so to be served with a lawsuit etc.

Where you're in the UK, that may not be an option. But in the US, VeRO counter notices can be used if you're 100% sure that you have the rights to list what was taken down.

But other types of policy violations there is unfortunately no recourse. Even if you're in the right and have evidence to back it up you're still screwed.

counter notice does not mean that it will not be a problem if new removal occurs , most likely it allows to relist the same item again but if new removal happens it is likely that previous removal will still have impact

for example it is this way on amazon , they remove an item , you appeal and they reinstate it but you would still be impacted if other items get removed later

10 days now it's the limit, the don't go to ban you, this is my experience in IT marketplace. Already got 10 days about 6/7 times, no final ban

It's usually about 2 or 3 times then account ban...

Not sure how you got 6 or 7 times, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's an anomaly for you

Here the email screenshot about the eBay restriction for counterfeit. Since the second one, they are all of 10 days, as i said no final ban ever.

I think in Europe the things are changed, they know before MP you should have also other 10.000 accounts, but not now. So i think for this kind of illecit, they temporary put you aside but not for ever

most likely ebay italy is low volume so ebay are not in a hurry to put down sellers there , with germany , uk and usa this would not work for sure as well as with all other english speaking countries

I think competitor can report your account, I would block competitor on ebay, try rest account atleast 3 months, and then try again.

Blocking another seller (from buying) will not protect you from VERO complaints which is OP's issue.
