Strange Verififcation request
 

Check this out, is this strange or not for verification that they are asking me ??

Virgin Paypal, virgin Ebay Account, virgin Email, i listed 6 items & they suspend me asking for verification which includes a Picture of me holding each item that i have listed ?????

Proof of ownership - We need to receive one of these for each item you listed on eBay:

Photograph of you together with the item (you must also submit a copy of your passport or driver's licence as photo ID).

I've never had this before, surely iw ouldn't have to do this with EVERY item i list from now on or would it just be for initial verification purposes ??

Please say the latter ??

Well looks like they picked up you might be using a VPN?
Your flag is not correct. It is meant to be the country you are living in not where you come from.

Which section sent it to you? I can see where ebay are coming from: if they have detected you have listed from O/S :now they want you to prove you can supply the listed items

Thanks GB, yeah that's a good shout & yes the VPN would probably have been picked up, Schoolboy error but no probs as i can verify...

eBay help sent it..

Any ideas how i'd pick up different UK IP's instead of US one's or could someone point me in the right direction ??

eBay did the same exact thing to me on a 5 month old us ebay account with 10 pos feedback for selling. They did not request it by email I called their customer support and the guy told me to email a photo of the products and me and a photo of a print out of my ebay screen name next to my face....

Seriously what kind of hokas pokus sesame street request is this :juggle:?


anyway they suspended that account and then I called back and said they just wanted the normal verification documents like utility bill, copy of ID and so on and they would remove the suspension (they sent this request by email after I talked to another rep......did that then they sent me an email saying they could not read the info...sent a another fax and never heard from them again....This was not a stealth account either...on the paypal side of things the pp account had a verified bank and ssn....everything was legit.


We were not a vpn either.

They were for low cost ebay motors accessory kits with a value below $100 non-vero....or high risk

Unbelievable. I swear its getting more and more ridiculous with Ebay and Paypal every day. I thought I had heard it all until this post.

Do a sobriety test, Touch your toes, spin around, do two backflips and take a picture of your grandmother holding the high risk items and we will reinstate your account! LOL

hehe use a free online fax service and fax them muiltpte times click fax after fax after fax.

Couldn't you just take a picture of anyone? How does it confirm anything?
