Verify identity via phone
 

Hello, my eBay.com account got suspended just two days after I created a new account. Subsequently, I was asked a few questions, and I responded to them all. Then, they requested that I complete a verification process over the phone to confirm my identity. I was wondering if anyone else has been through this before and if you could advise me on the exact documents they might require.

The eBay team is quite strict, and they have a low tolerance for any errors, which can lead to a permanent suspension. Therefore, I want to be well-prepared. Thank you.

Is this a real suspension like they banned you or is it more like a confirmation phone call?

first permanent suspend, then I contacted by e-mail, they asked a few questions, then they called me by phone and asked me to identity verify.

Part of mail: "I have completed my review on your account and I want to let you know that in order to appeal for this, we have to verify your identity and this is only possible via phone support team."

I was advised to get a VPS as my IP address appeared to be insecure. So, I purchased a VPS located in the USA and opened an account using just my email and name; eBay did not request any additional information. However, when I tried to make a purchase, my account was suspended. I really don't understand why this happened, considering I didn't even create a seller's account.:pry:

How long after you created the account were you suspended? Creating eBay accounts and making purchases too soon can trigger bots. Same way converting buyer to seller accounts/creating listings too soon can trigger them.

Using a VPS was probably your biggest mistake, getting banned on account creation means that the bots do not like the setup, also the if the email provider which is used as well, encrypted email accounts get banned.

If you are in the USA and this is not a stealth account then use your mobile phone as a hotspot, remove all cookies from your browser from eBay, open a gmail email account and try again.

i haven't seen buying 1 to 2 days after creating an account to cause me problems

I once created an account using V P N and an encrypted email address and the account got banned on creation, the ID used was genuine, I think now the bots look for the way the account was created.

it's quite likely the IP source that caused the issue as degsey69 alluded
