how do you justify 30 days shipping and handling?

It works. Be upfront with customers. They are willing to wait. Some countries have less than 2 weeks delivery with aliexpress standard shipping. If you want get a sourcing agent who will source and ship with 1 week delivery but their prices aren't as competitive as aliexpress with many sellers competing against eachother

the competition will really affect the profit margins to make it worthwhile

Many Ali sellers also sell on EBAY,how do you compete?

Just saw your DM, drop shipping from Amazon to eBay is best since all the china ppl are already on eBay, so pointless to aliexpress source. If selling on Amazon, don't drop ship. I drop shipped eBay to Amazon before and always get shut down. Amazon to Etsy drop shipping is the move, can do Ali too, but harder to find a good product.
