Paypal Payment for DHGate

Has anyone ordered anything on DHGate and paid with Paypal successfully with a 1 day payment confirmation time? I used to pay my DHGate orders with paypal all the time until I recently have been having problems. They were saying they weren't seeing my Paypal payments and as a result I ended up getting payments refunded like 5 days later.

I'm thinking this might have happened b/c my dhgate acct info didn't match my paypal info, but I didn't think that would matter at the time.

Let me know if anyone else has experienced this and what advice you might have for me. I really hate paying via Western Union and waiting the 4 days for confirmation. Thanks. ;)

PS - Paying DHGate with a Credit Card is also a pain with the verification.

I had a payment reversed the last time I used paypal for dhgate now I use mony gram or western union and it usually takes about the same time to process and you don't leave a paper trail, I've got a package coming in tommorow that I paid for 9 days ago in cash, cleared customs yesterday. Anything coming from dhgate is better handled in cash anyway ,if you do it for a living that is, the less bank and credit card transactions the better.

One order I had through dhGate at the first of November was paid with Paypal.
The order arrived about 11 days later. I had no problems with it.

The last order was paid via Paypal also and then 24 hours later I received the Payment confirmation from dhGate.
Then about another 24 hours later I received the shipping confirmation and tracking number.
The package is currently in transit.
No problems with the Paypal payment.

Does your dhgate acct info match your paypal info? Mainly the name and address?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The name is the same.
The city & state is the same.
But the street address is different.

Just stick with western union, I love going there, it gives you a chance to get off your rump show people how its done. You pull up in front in your mercedez with your gucci sunglasses on, step out with your supra hi-tops, stand in line with all the poor folks waiting to cash their checks and everybodies lookin at cha like who in the heck is this guy and you can crack a couple jokes and pick up a couple girls while you're at it. Much more satisfying then paying with paypal.

I'm gonna open a new dhgate account with the same and and address as my paypal. I think that may be throwing them off, maybe they think someone else is attempting to use my paypal account.

I am a VIP Dhgate member too!!! :bounce:

but what if you need to file a chargeback for item not recieved? are you protected at all?

jbluntz 12-04-2009 03:14 PM

I don't know I haven't had that happen yet besides I make my own protection, it's called "don't put all your eggs in 1 basket" I only order small quantities at a time enough to fit in one box and make up a small % of my cash on hand.

That is the risk you face with western union. I only do pay WU with suppliers I trust and have dealt with for awhile. First time suppliers must always be Paypal or Credit Card so you can track them and/or file a dispute if needed.

jbluntz 12-04-2009 03:30 PM

With dhgate the western union payment goes into escrow not to the seller and if your package gets siezed by customs you just wait for their letter and fax it to dhgate for a refund. Theres not really any need for chargebacks, dhgate has plenty of buyer protection if you know how to use their site intellegently of coarse.

I have had no issues with my stealth paypal account and my dhgate account.

All of my orders are confirmed within an hour after paying with paypal.

The only issue that I have had with my suppliers on dhgate is the shipping time has taken 2-4 times longer than normal when the seller sends out my orders with ems

aking 12-10-2009 08:48 AM

Does anyone pay their dhgate orders with western union online?

jbluntz 12-10-2009 09:58 AM

That defeats the whole purpose of western union, might as well just pay with credit card lol.

aking 12-10-2009 10:51 AM

They also have a western union prepaid visa card. Wonder if it works for eBay verification?

flipstardirect 12-12-2009 02:40 AM

With DHGate I have never had problems with PayPal either. Literally after my payment confirmation email from Paypal I get the "order confirmation" email from DHGate, then 1-2 mins later the "payment confirmation" email.

With shipping time I tend to build up lengthy and very friendly conversations with suppliers via messages, and after proving my loyalty to a said supplier I then ask them for private listings with discounts. Shipping for me is sometimes same day, or next day, so really it all depends on your suppliers.

^_^

I have always paid with a credit card, but I a lot of their pages come up blank. It's too much work to keep entering my credit card number until the page actually loads. Even then, I get errors about 50% of the time. I used Paypal for my last order and I got the email confirmation minutes later. The next day, I got my shipping confirmation. I will probably keep using Paypal.

Its going go cost you more money to send WU on line. Its like $45 vs. $15 at your local WU place.

wilburnet 12-14-2009 08:32 AM

I buy things on DHGate daily and have had no problems with Paypal payments. The only time was where i went to make payment on DHgate and they took me to the pay by credit card on Paypal , since i had no money in credit card they kept trying to take it and i couldn't purchase anything for 3 weeks till the money request cancelled itself .
My supplier on dhgate doesn't wait no longer for the money to clear as he know's its definately been paid so i get my items sent to my customers much quicker than using another seller
