eBay says it will keep the money for two months after the sale.
 

Hi everyone, Today I sold a product to 3 people. Normally, eBay sends the money to my bank account within two weeks after the sale. However, eBay says it will keep the money for this 1 sale until Sept. 14. What could be the reason for this?, the order placed before and after it will be kept for 2 weeks as it should be. The difference of this order from the other two orders is that the person who bought the product is in Portugal and bought two pieces. Could this be a factor?

You have not mentioned how much the product was sold for, usually high value items going out of country carry more risk, they are being careful in case the buyer claims non receipt of the item, the 14 day usual hold covers this period in the states for shipping, they are just extending the time for overseas shipping that takes longer.

You should find as time goes on the 14 day hold will shorten with continued good performance of your account.

What shipping method you set up for overseas shipping ? If Economy then this is the reason.

the product was a $20 kitchen item.

I used standard international shipping.

It’s probably just because it’s an overseas shipping on a new account, they may even release the money earlier if they get tracking confirmation, if it was global shipping through eBay you normally get paid sooner. Remember the payment date for the sale is an estimate and I have found sometimes they pay earlier.

I understand I'm just wondering one more thing. If the problem is overseas shipping with the new account, that's fine, but the sales email from eBay said the money would be ready in two weeks. So what could be the reason for this in the e-mail?

If you are seeing the release date in your account as 2 months when the email says 14 days it’s my experience that you will get it sooner than later.
