Buying an ebay acc from an existing holder?
 

1. Joe Bloggs has an existing ebay acc.
2. I buy from him. I change the details to my details, including bank acc and any other forms of ID needed - all of which are real.

What's wrong with the above plan?

1. It's illegal on planet ebay not allowed.

Ignoring the above, what else is wrong and what could go wrong?
'Could go wrong' - what are the chances of something going wrong?

All I see are old posts relating to the question.

ebay can see all the details that were changed and it just looks like you've either hacked or bought an account from somebody else

You're best buying a stealth account or creating your own.

@stu no hiding anything from ebay.
The method I described, I know works.
I just wanted to know how widespread it is? Does anyone else use this method?

How many stealth accounts have you created in another name?
I haven't tried to make stealth after MP came in

I know that a while back this is basically impossible to do.
Why? Because I was going to give up a couple of my 10 year old accounts and it just didn't fly because it already has my info and tax ID etc etc etc.

eBay flagged the new owner that the account was hacked and that's about it.
Then I had to take it back, call eBay and basically said "thanks for getting my account back".

Now, I'm not quite sure but I'd be careful. If I were to buy an account I'd stick to the sellers in the marketplace.

Unless it’s a business account which LTD it will look like you have hacked the account, with the LTD it can look like it was a genuine sale of the business.

I'm in the same position. I had set up an account under my friends details about 3 years ago. I now need to somehow adjust the account so I can start paying tax :/ Not sure what to do.
