Return Rates Of eBay Hi,
If a buyer opens a return request and closes it because I solved his problem with the product by giving him some instructions, does that count as a return in my seller metrics?
Or do only the products that one gives the refund to the buyers count as return in my seller metrics?
Thank for any suggestion |
Re: Return Rates Of eBay i don't think it counts as a return since he closed it |
| Blasko | 08-23-2023 02:37 AM | Re: Return Rates Of eBay I got "Item not received high rate" since I am shipping from Bosnia. Mainly my customers are from U.S. and in many cases 2-3 days after order confirmation they send me "Item not received". They dont even look at Estimated time of delivery and Item location.
This got me in trouble since I received e-mail from eBay "Item not received - High rate". So I would say eBay count them even though every customer closed request after I explained them that item is subject of international delivery... |
Re: Return Rates Of eBay I don't sell internationally, but I was under the impression that if you had your dispatch and shipping times set correctly then ebay wouldn't allow buyers to open 'not received' cases until the ETA had elapsed. (happy to be corrected, I'm not 100% sure). Even selling in my own country I've never had a single case which has been opened within delivery timeframe.
That said, if a buyer closes the 'dispute' then AFAIK it won't count against your metrics in the long term, but it will count against this months figure, it would be corrected on the next evaluation.....I think. |

TBH I do not believe that 'many case' are being opened within 2-3 days of order confirmation particularly as 1 of those days is allowed for prep and posting/collection for purchases after your same day cut off time so it would be cases opened within 1 or 2 days of dispatch for some sales...not happening. |
| degsey69 | 08-23-2023 02:53 PM | Re: Return Rates Of eBay If a buyer opens a return request and you sort out the issue and they close it without sending the order back, it will still show on your metrics return rate as a return. you can appeal it and have it removed. |

Their answer has nothing to do with your post regarding the issue of 'items not received'.
FYI ebay will not remove a strike for 'not received' until you can show it's been received even if the buyer closes the case. |

I had probably same amount of "Item not received" and "return requests", because in most of cases my customers tried to contact me that way.
As I said earlier since I am shipping from Bosnia customers from U.S. that bought from me didn't even look Item location or Estimated time of delivery. 2-7 days after I confirmed and shipped orders I got from them "Item not received" or "Return request" - because they were unaware of item location or ETD.
So stop being smartass.
I can even prove with printscreens of e-mails from eBay regarding this, it counts in both cases :* |

To be quite frank, I simply do not believe you when you say you get return requests because international customers haven't receive their goods. Not happening.
Anyway, at least they're now opening 'not received' cases after 2-7 days and not 2-3 days as it was yesterday. Be grateful for such a big overnight improvement. :) |

In both cases IT COUNTS, no mater if You solved it with customer...
And yes, they file "item not received" after few days since some of them are thinking that item is the States....
Kiss and good night Powerseller with huge amount of experience, go study eBay before you go to sleep, since it is obvious that you did not experience situations that I had in both cases Item not received/Return request :* | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:42 AM. | |
