Default Issues with Ebay labels? (UK)

I was using Ebay labels regularly because it was faster and was slightly cheaper than buying from Royal Mail directly, but 3 customers in a row all came back to me and said that they never received their parcel after a week. If you live in the UK you know UK2UK is at most 3 days even with 2nd class so I wasn't really sure what was happening.

I switched back to just purchasing the labels myself from Royal Mail and haven't any further issues.

Has anyone else had issues with Royal Mail labels bought from Ebay not showing up or getting lost?

Not really sure if I just got 3 scammers in a row or its a general issue with those labels.

On my UK account I try not to use Royal Mail, I use packlink and chose between the choice on there.

I've had issues with Royal Mail but doubt it's to do with the source of the label.

I think its just a batch that they've failed to deliver timely. I suspect that a sack just sits there and doesn't get processes as it should. It's unlikely that you'd get three unconnected scammers in quick succession.

I live in Northern Ireland. The only people who offer us fair delivery is Royal Mail, and thats because they aren't allowed to exclude us lol.

Everyone else is much more expensive, even up to 2x-8x more costly for bigger items :*(

(I tested Packlink for a small postable letter from UK2UK. Royal Mail is £0.75 and Packlink brought up Yodel for £2.88 or EVRI for £5.05)

I have sold over 170 Parcels on Etsy and not one has gotten lost. It could've just been bad luck but it just seemed like too much of a coincidence. 3 Parcels in a row bought through Ebay labels all got lost. I guess I'll give them another go but if anything else gets lost I'll probably just go back to buying them manually again.

Strange on my UK account I sold some Apple air pods this year and 3 out of 4 were lost between the Royal Mail and Evri. Sometimes it depends on the contents of the package, they will go through XRay machines on their journey.

Nope, neither Royal Mail or Evri XRay national deliveries.

Yeah they don't have any security on Domestic parcels whatsoever. Heard about that from someone who sells 'no-nos' online haha.

Stuff is only pulled if its obviouosly nefarious, like white powder everywhere or a strong drug odour from what I heard.

Did you not check the delivery status on the tracking?

Tracking is mega-expensive. And all my products are under £6.

I try to get a 30% profit margin including shipping and fees. I only really provide tracking if someone orders a larger amount. So I can't track them :(

Although I'd also to mention that ever since I moved to Royal Mail's Click & Drop Web-panel only 1 parcel has went missing and 1 arrived broken (Out of around 400-500 Parcels), which Royal Mail promptly paid me out for insurance (Even overpaid by £2.50 for some reason lol)

So I'm pretty happy with Royal Mail so far. Although I know a lot of people have horror stories with them.

Last year i was selling UK2UK and from 1k+ orders i never have issues with tracked Royal Mail service.

With Evri (Hermes) around 5% of all parcels was lost/missing, tracking number show in sorting depot and from there never delivered to customers.

Whilst not proper tracking, you do get a good chance that delivery will be confirmed if you use an ebay generated label as they all have QR codes on them. It's not perfect by any means but it's good enough for cheap items.
