Empty box received claim...
 

CANNOT believe this buyer on ebay.

Sold an item, he received it today and sent me a picture saying the item isn't in the box.

I replied quite bluntly and said that I sealed the box with tape and the postman put the label on in front of me, I cannot see from the pics you've sent that its been opened and resealed over the postmans label. Ie... its untouched! I said he should check if someone else in your household opened it and took it.

He replied saying, "Sorry maybe misunderstanding, item does not work i want to return and i need refund otherwise i leave feedback"

So, box arrived empty, then magically the product appeared out of his a55?

Obviously its a scammer and the item does work as it was tested before dispatch. item is something you use on your car to adjust something, so he probably used it and now doesn't need it but tried to get it for free and now just wants money back.

Item hasn't arrived back yet but, it could still arrive empty box!

The ODD thing is, he didn't open a return for it? he just messaged via messages and is returning it from his own pocket. Very odd behaviour.

You are lucky if he leaves negative feedback you have his threat on file and it will be removed, you also need to report the buyer as he may have done this before and a report on him made by another seller.

If he is returning the item without opening a return claim, then when it arrives if it’s there you can refund him if arrived empty you do not.

Since he said the box is empty,it would make no sense for him to return the box/
altho he could,if he opens a case of INAD,then Ebay will give him a shipping label to return the empty box .

he should have tracking ,it does not matter,he can still open a case of INAD and return an empty box with return shipping label paid by seller

Some niches attract these sorts of buyers. I'd refund if he returns anything even if it's an empty box. On the contrary, you may not receive anything in the post.

If you ever get to refund him, short his refund by a few pence. He'd be unable to leave you adverse feedback in certain circumstances.

With him having threatened to leave feedback the way he did eBay would automatically remove a negative feedback

They didn't like feedback extortion
