Default The New Lowballing

I have been selling on eBay primarily for the last 14 yrs. or so and I have noticed a down tick in bargain hunters messaging me for a low ball deal. As with all online sellers, we pick up on trends and patterns very quickly, at least I do anyway. i noticed that the original lowballers have now gone to a silent warcher especially if they have inside knowledge that you send offers to all interested buyers as I do, even though my prices are super high on rare and unique items.

I had a repeat buyer watch 150 of items with no intention on buying and I reported his cheap butt to eBay for seller harassment of me and my listings!

I blocked his butt and messaged him to tell him to stop watching my items!!

eBay said that was against policy and it is a form of seller harassment based on frustration that they will never get a smoking hot deal in my store!!!!

I run an online e-commerce store, Not a friggin' library!!

I blocked a dude this morning that had been pulling that same kind of mess for the last 5 or 6 days and found his feedback score # in my message inbox from last week.

Honestly, these people are dead weight and a waste of time and find that it is a better business decision to block them because they are not even in the ballpark.

You cant stop people from watching your items,he has dont nothing wrong, you can block him buying but not watching.
Bottom feeders are on the side lines, they have less discretionary income to flip discretionary stuff.
If you have rare and expensive items, consider selling elsewhere,Aspire auction is one worth looking into

sadly this trend does exist and is part of the online competition - frustrating, yes but watching items is not illegal to the platform...

I'm amazed ebay said that it was seller harassment, are you sure it wasn't buyer harassment.

Maybe I'm a bit thick, but where's the harm in watchers?

Yes, lowballers and scammers have definitely increased, but in this case I fail to see how the budder is causing harm

I never watch the watchers, I only want to look at the sales created, I find on some products you get a load of watchers and visits but a slow sale on the product. Also if you are going to give a discount to interested viewers of the listing, so what if the person you do not like gets the offer as well.

it's gotten worse and more annoyingly more and more people now can't even form complete sentences.

example:

$1?

"what's your best price?"

Everytime I get some idiot like this, I added 50% increase to my price.

I see lowballers as trash or dead weight. I block his butt and tell his cheap self to take his thrifty nickel elsewhere and even send links with same styles and very small sizes and tell them thank God for other buying options!!

I start use 3dseller software for this.

They have feature send daily offers and accept or decline them by %.

Pretty simple and effective, you get new sales, price ~20USD a month.

It annoys him more than you,as his mail box is filled with these offers.
Does he sell, you could do the same with his listings.

What's the issue with having a watcher if they are not doing anything? I don't see a problem with it

Because the watcher is not buying anything from him.

Agreed, there isn't a problem is there, OP's just being weird about it. Remove the 'watchers' column from your dashboard and they're gone forever.

But he wont do that,he wants people to watch and eventually buy.
Did he check FB or Etsy to see if he is trying to sell his items?

Seems a weird thing to be bothered about....

Extra watchers help increase an items visibility- just don't see the issue here

I send daily offers for new watchers, store followers.

Now eBay has a lot new new promototions offers, i use all possible campaings till the end of the year.

It's increase visibility of your listings, on some campaing eBay writes your promotion in red near listing
