Counterfeit item policy violation by agent

Anyone ever seen this before? NOT vero.
I got this violation in the past but probably by a bot and I got a suspension for it. That was a long time ago.

But recently I got a few of these and continue to get them for different listings that says it was “determined by a customer service agent.” Also another weird thing is that I’m not getting any suspensions for each time I get this violation for a different listing. It just says no further action except the listing was removed.

Has this happened to any of you? Not sure what to do about this as I continue to get more of these by “customer service agent.”

1st clarification: what item/category listing are you getting this policy violation on?

It's bots. Removals have been rampant these past months with their AI that they put in.

Clothing. Is it really AI, even though it says “determination was made by a customer service agent”?

Its most likely a competitor or trademarked supplier (not manufacturer as that would fall under Vero) that is reporting your listing and the agent is removing it.

This is what I figure as well - especially so with clothing...you might have quite a bit of competition trying to push you down

I got a DVD listing removed for being "counterfeit". Was pretty shocked but phoned up and said i have all receipts. Rep said alls good and could relist my DVD.

Got a follow automated message a few days later saying "i'd won the appeal".

Nice push with the phone call - sometimes either the bots or competition are too brutal

Re: Counterfeit item policy violation by agent

getting this strike on somebody's item is literally as easy as reporting it once...

i have reported some items recently and within 3 minutes ebay emailed me saying it was taken down....

THAT IS WILD

maybe they figure people in certain niche high risk markets will report eachother and do the work for them

Why did you report a listing? What's the reason?

I actually got another listing taken down. So i phoned up again. This time they sent me a upload form. Uploaded the receipt/invoice. Took about a week but was accepted and can re-list my item.

Experimentation and retaliation?

customer service agent-
I would interpret this to be an outsider(non Ebay) performing customer service task, either paid or voluntary, could be human or AI

This happened to me as well, I had several listings taken down and they are completely legit, not replica items..it stated that the listings violated the "copy/counterfeit/replica policy"..not VERO but possibly higher risk since they are higher value.

Certain categories are heavily policed and many trademarked brands are monitored and at the behest of the companies.

This could be due to Intellectual Property conflicts, very highly counterfeited items, and more. (Apple Airpods, Nikes, etc)...or maybe a competing shop

My friend use to work in a company where they employed someone just to check online sales platforms for their items and report or email seller to remove or provide proof of purchase. It’s a common practice for companies to do this now.

Logical move for companies - and it's not hard to implement these days

Doesn't sound like a good thing, if you can easily do it then it can easily be done too you.
