eBay UK - Verify your account information.
 

Hi all,

First post and call for advice.

I’ve been selling on a new eBay account after being banned with an account using my real details.

It is a private seller account with sales of just over £1k in 4 months.

The account has been made using a variation of my name, a relatives address and new bank details that have not been on eBay before. The bank account doesn’t match the address on eBay

I have today received a request from eBay to verify my account. I only have £30 pending release, but an order due to be shipped for around £100.

I’m pretty sure the account won’t be going on beyond today, but just thought I’d reach out and see if anyone has successfully managed this situation before ?

If you think that you will get through verification then ship the order and wait it out, even if you do not pass you will get any pending funds in 60 days after the account is permanently suspended, much better that the 180 days when PayPal was used by them.

I was always under the impression that if the account was suspended and not verified, the funds would be held indefinitely

That's not true. No verification, no money. Been like that for quite some time now, nearly all selling platforms have this policy.

pain to add bank account or payment method if account is suspended that's for sure

eBay should refund the money after 60 days.

as long as no violation of AUP most of the time
