5 offer limit?

How do you all feel about the 5 item limit as a buyer and how can you get around it?

I made 5 offers on a Panasonic Ultra HD blu-ray player and all 5 of my offers were rejected (too low) now my only other option is to pay full price for it.

You have another option: Contact the seller and ask what the bottom-line price is. They can always adjust the agreed upon price for you to purchase.

How much was you low balling him?

Hate it when you have something for sale for say £500 and get offers for £120.
“This is my last offer as someone else has it cheaper”
Well go there then.

You either pay for it or go on another account and make offers...just an option to consider as well

I'm in favour, it's primarily designed to discourage serial pain-in-the-ass buyers and to panic the genuine buyer into upping their bids as their offer count is depleted.

But there are sellers who semi-abuse it. They use it as a promotional tool to attract interest when in reality they have no intention of accepting what would be seen as reasonable offers. The Chinese do it all the time.

Take an item at $100, they have no intention of accepting anything below $99. They just want to attract interest and get buyers to waste their time chasing a product which is only going to get sold if you're pretty much going to pay asking price. At least many of those who use this baiting tactic usually have the decency to make a counter offer and spell it out but it's still frustrating as a buyer to be strung along.

As a buyer, if you have made 5 reasonable offers and, I assume, no counter offer has been made as you've ended up using all five offers, then walk away, they don't deserve your trade. If you've been stupid with your bids then you've only yourself to blame and I refer you back to my opening paragraph.

If you really do want it then TGMT2 has given you the solution.

Best thing is just to message the seller like TGMT has suggested or find another seller.

Just open a stealth buyer account, they rarely suspend them, only when you want to start selling. You can put your proper mailing address down for the ship to and even your proper credit or debit card.

Re: 5 offer limit?

I've had buyers that can't even form ANY sentence and messaged me "$20"

That's it.... "$20" (Item is $130)

ANd when I don't respond the next message is: "?"

So I just put his name in the block buyer list. Some times I respond back and tell them to go back to school and to start growing the F up.

Of course from time to time I got a warning from eBay to not abuse buyers but it made me feel very fulfilled.

hehehehe
