Account restricted and requested documents impossible to get (self employed)
 

This hasn't effected me, but I saw this on the Ebay discussion forum earlier. Anyone had this happen to them?

My 7 years old business account was restricted on 23.12. and I have tried my very best to get my account open again. Under my business details I have my business name and virtual business address and under owner details stock location / collection / sending from is my name and home address.

I work as a sole trader, not VAT registered, not limited company but as self employed under UTR number. When I do my tax return, I fill my business name as I do use it and HMRC requests it, but as all taxes are under UTR number, used business name doesn't show on filed tax return.

Ebay now requires proof that I am employed by my business name. I have sent everything I can ever think of but they do not accept my documents. Customer service told me today, that if I am not able to give any of the requested documents, Ebay will not remove the restriction. I did send my tax return self assesment page but that is not approved as it doesn't mention my business name, only UTR as thats how it is in UK.

Payslips don't excist, I am not unemployed, tax record don't have the business name. So my only option would be letter of employment verification. Where can I get one? I have accounting software but no accountant and I am the owner of this small business working alone.

you are always free to change your business name on ebay to your personal name as long as you are not a corporation

in general people on ebay forums are not very bright , I would not use them as source of information but they are certainly very good at looking at other people's accounts so if you write there you can be sure you will be thoroughly looked into and if anything found you will be reported to the "right place"

WHAT IS A letter of unemployment?

Ebay seller forum participants are mostly US sellers,this is a UK problem,they may not know enough to help HER.
I cant believe she is the only UK seller self employed,there maybe something else Ebay does not like and decide to give her a hard time,what does she sell ?

Does she have many listings under that ID?
Does it look like all new items with pictures and description copied from elsewhere?
Does she have most of the items in stock?
Someone could have reported her ?

Is it too late top open a business,then open a bank account under business name and print some stationary?and write yourself a check

I would never post on there, but was interested to see if anyone else has had that issue.
