I see this on feedback profile I think this is to keep track of legit transaction on ebay, or if there is other purpose? Any comments?

this means nothing , was copied from amazon , it is to show to potential buyers that it was feedback for an actual purchase and not some kind of outside review or product review

Another useless addition. Buyers being able to share photos when leaving feedback on the other hand will be useful.

there are many stupid buyers too , maybe it is useful , especially from the US I regularly receive questions which let me doubt the intellectual potential of the sender like "I want to buy but only have us dollars so can not pay in english currency"

if you list your items on Ebay.com,your asking price would be in US $.
If they find your listing on Ebay UK,their US dollars will be converted into GBP,they dont have to do anything.

I saw this too and people were talking about it on the official eBay discussion boards.

I don't understand the point of it. If you didn't buy it on eBay, you wouldn't be able to leave feedback for it...

What exactly is a legit transaction?

I too saw this and wondered what their angle was. Surely most, if not all, ebay buyers who look at feedback are aware it's related to an ebay purchase.

Unless they're looking to introduce an Amazon style system - seller feedback for service related matters and a separate product review.

If this was the case, surely they wouldn't allow non-verified product reviews, we all know how this played out for Amazon and why it was withdrawn.

But in ebays quest to mirror Amazon I wouldn't put anything past them.

I've always said a catalogue system would happen in some shape or form in the future...

All that said, maybe it's nothing more than just a pretty pointless way of thinking they're generating buyer confidence.

Its to stop the guys buying feedback. It shows you that this was a legit seller and a legit buyer - not a companies that gets paid to leave reviews.

Amazon have had something similar for years
