eBay kicks in selfie ID verification
 

Recently eBay asks for ID AND SELFIE verification when setting up seller account.

It said verification must be complete before selling.

Anyone experience similar situation?

Feel so hopeless because 10/10 of my accounts asks for that.

can you attach a picture that ask live selfie? i heard from someone that all the accounts in the future need to do this.

always good to have some backups going - maybe not 30 but some anyhow

Have had this in the past 5 accounts that were made. There were all over 2 months old.

Have a feeling it has to do with the IP, Phone or browser.

There are accounts where they go through with information that is made up.

Others where it ask for ID when address and name match.

Mind you, the accounts not getting the ID verification seem to be the newly created ones.

Have no clue what the hell eBay has been doing these past months let alone year, but it is a total mess.

All the people said they did not encounter that selfie ID. I think it will be a trend But they just keep quiet. Especially the "expert" in the forum blaming I did something wrong to triger this. If this continues, stealth account will dead in the future.

I would keep trying or wait a couple of days.

eBay is up and down with their system which trying to find a pattern is near impossible.

Oh forgot to mention to. I think phone number plays a role a little bit more compared to IP and browser.

In my experience, when I use a phone number 3 times it is all good. The 4th time using that number, it get's those ID verification requests.

So if you use online numbers from an SMS website, that could contribute to the problem.

One phone number link to per eBay account. If you use same number to link different account, it will cause serious issue.

I think that's why my accounts are getting suspended mins or sometime a day after I create a sellers account..... the phone numbers I use might be the problem
what type of phone numbers do you use?

Hi, did you recently open up new seller account and got the ID verification right away?
I don't use the same phone number repeatedly.

I rarely get hit with id and selfie , my accounts just close same day I open the sellers account

What exactly is the issue with this? Why would you create an account now without your real name? You need to add a SSN for managed payments so...?

I haven't needed to create a canada account in awhile but i might give it a shot on the weekend to see
