But i said look if you said its me its so stupid isnt it? i can create an account with your name and sell illegal items, how can they prove its you? They need to go in a court and prove it. (Ebay never asked ID verification on my accounts)

He said "if they know who you are that means they have done some research and investigation".................................... ............ They just took my business details on ebay page

So i said to him dont send nothing and wait if they sue me..
lawyers are interested in getting money out of you , they will certainly not give you the same piece of advice I gave you because they want to get paid and it is better for them go the legal way with out of court negotiation and settlements or court proceedings

remove your name from ebay , from packets you send out and later if there should be further action against you deny everything

Just don't pay attention to the lawyers, you just want to get money. Maybe you are one of the thousands who receive those emails per year. I imagine that it is your country, it would not be something to fear, perhaps if you live in the United States that will cause problems.

Lawyers are a shifty bunch aren't they. One lawyer taking money off you milking a baseless threat from another lawyer when they know fine well it ain't going anywhere.

I understand your concern, it comes as a shock and it is human nature to worry, but as others have said this is a well known scam and can be ignored.

Just chill out and dont do dumb stuff like paying them.
Relist the item and tell them to bite you.

Relisting is not recommended

Whilst I agree that not relisting is the probably wisest thing to do it could be said that given the letter is just a snide attack to firstly get rid of a competitor though baseless claims and secondly generate an income for the dodgy lawyer then they could relist it and I bet nothing would ever come of it.

OP doesn't come across as the kind of person who will but some sellers, like me, wouldn't roll over for this money grabbing scam.

I got one about a decade ago, sent all the papers to the Law Society in the UK because they were not only comical but illegal and the scammers went away. I am still selling the wares today.

Nice work - but yes, in this case, OP might not be ready to deal with all this since he/she seems a bit new to the scene
