Ebay Stealth Account
 

Hello forum,

If I buy a stealth account of eBay US if I go over $600 in sales I will receive a 1099-k

In this case, the account is not in my name, how is that resolved?

1099 goes by SSN,social security number,you get a copy and IRS gets a copy.

if this stealth account is personal or sole proprietorship,a SSN is needed to sell on Ebay.
If you add your SSN,then you get a copy of 1099K.
If it comes with other people SSN,you will get his 1099K,it is against the law to use other people SSN

for 2024,$5000 with no transaction limit.
for 2025,possibly $600,

Say you sold $4999 on EBAY and $4500 on Etsy and $4000 on AMZN,you will get no 1099K from Etsy,Ebay and Amzn .
The only way IRS will find out if they audit you and look at your bank accounts

The amount on the 1099K is gross,if there are returns or scams ,you have to deduct it yourself,some sellers are not aware of such

I 've read they changed it to 5000$ but this is not 100% confirmed.

I havent seen that around but if changed, a source statement would be nice
