| | | | | calvin07 | 04-21-2024 07:20 AM | Funds held in German eBay account Hello, I moved to Germany about 2 months ago. I had business on eBay before, so I opened a separate account here. I linked my tax number, bank account etc. here. Bank account confirmed. I received my payment once and there is no problem with that. However, when my sales increased slightly, I was asked to verify my identity and they gave me until May 12. I also sent a photo of my passport. I don't have an ID in Germany yet. However, it was rejected 3 times. I guess there are some letters in my name that do not appear in German. I entered my name on eBay as seen in the documents in Germany, but in my own country my name has two or three different characters. I think it's because of this. However, I sent my passport again last time and my account was suspended without any response. This is not important, but when I first e-mailed ebay, they said they would send it after 170 days. I wrote it a second time to be sure, and now they say they will keep the money because there is no identity verification. In this case, what can I do to get the money? Which representative said is true?
Thanks. |

probably it is better to do it in 6 months so that they don't tell you that you need to wait anyway
and if this does not work take a local lawyer so that they write to them and they can take it further |

In this case, the most logical thing is to expect to have an immigration status in Germany with a German document that shows that you live in Germany. Therefore, you should write a lengthy email to eBay where you demand an explanation of your limitation. eBay can't steal your money. The only way they steal it is if you have a stealthy one and you can't prove it's you.
When they verify your immigration status they will return your account.
What country is your passport from?
That may be cause for an advisor to issue a response contrary to you. Sometimes there are people who are not very intelligent and discriminate against you because of your place of origin. |

I will do as you say. but this morning I wrote them an email saying they wouldn't get the money and detailing the name difference. About an hour ago, I received an answer from the eBay premium support team (the first time I heard this): "Your payment cannot be made due to your account being restricted, you must object to the restriction and if the objection is rejected, your payment will be made after 170 days."
Actually, I objected before and they said that this restriction was permanent. |

| yobar | 04-22-2024 02:34 PM | Re: Funds held in German eBay account I think that in your case you can obtain a document from the country where you are living, look for someone who can make a good document, perhaps a residence permit. |

germany is very strict so that ebay would not be able to keep the money if taken to court and they will try to avoid it , only question is whether it will be sufficient to send a letter or if you will need a lawyer to send one later |

"We have finalized your file, we think we have informed you correctly. If you are not satisfied with the result, write to the e-mail address below." it said. I sent my passport photo, my name and address, and my address registration document in Germany to the e-mail address they gave me. I said that I would demand the money within 60 days, otherwise I would take legal action. |

| lihiti | 04-24-2024 07:33 AM | Re: Funds held in German eBay account Let me answer you, as an ebay 20 year veteran. First of all your account is Turkish then you have to submit your Turkish passport, secondly because you submitted wrong information then you this money ebay will not pay you. This is the final answer and you will not receive your money even after 170 days. |

email will likely not help | The answer came, they explained why they did not accept the passport verification, there was light, your date of birth could not be read, etc., but they said they would check again after 170 days. In response to this e-mail, I sent a photo of my passport in a clearer form. |

When registering on eBay, I gave my address in Germany. When asked about citizenship, I stated that I was a Turkish citizen. |

| calvin07 | 10-04-2024 08:01 AM | Re: Funds held in German eBay account UPDATE;Yesterday, on October 3, 170 days passed but the money had not yet been transferred to my account, I wrote to eBay immediately. They said they would send the money but that more than one department would have to review it. After this email, 8-9 hours later, I received an email stating that my sales limits had been updated. This was a bit strange because I did not understand why the sales limits of a suspended account were updated. In the meantime, they had reduced my limits to zero. Then, 2 hours later, my eBay account returned to its previous state. Of course, I immediately did the identity verification, they approved it after 5-6 hours. It currently says that the money will be sent tomorrow. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:29 PM. | |
