When / how will eBay overhaul the new negative feedback abomination
 

So it seems eBay hit a new low today. Previously it was possible to speak to an actual human being regarding feedback using facebook for business (if anyone doesn't know about this it's like live chat but much better). I had good success with a variety of issues without needing to call, including direct removal of feedback.

Today it seems even these agents have had their powers removed. I have a buyer who was away during a feedback revision request, I asked them to send me a clear and direct message stating they there happy with the transaction and would like the negative feedback removed.

They obliged but common sense isn't enough for eBay anymore, failing on the standard issue buyer experience line they simply said it there isn't a buyers agreement of removal policy so the back office team denied it.

I actually can't believe how backward and ridiculous this system has become. This can't be a sustainable marketplace for small time sellers.

Don't find it likely. Other sellers are complaining about the same thing. Seems the more and more time goes on. The more eBay is heading for a decline.

You can't even get a rep on the phone and when you do, they are useless. I had times where they try to escalate a BS feedback to one of their higher ups. THe phone disconnects shortly after.

on the other side they also reduced feedback visibility for buyers who can still find it if they want to but less experienced people now only see feedbacks for the particularly item sold in the past rather than entire feedback so that for example negative feedbacks left for another item are harder to find

They are just making as much of it ad possible dependent on automation and AI now. Less wages to pay. Downside is less and less people are now using eBay to sell and to buy becusse of how awful the customer service had become.

To save money on wages they have lots much more in sales. Shooting themselves in the foot sadly

Classic giving a few crumbs with one hand while snatching away with the other
The overall feedback score is very prominant for all mobile browsing users so it makes little difference.

Yup, somewhere I read is eBay is banking heavily on sellers using promoted listings for revenue.

Ebay is getting to be too big for SMALL TIME SELLERS.
They just cant afford to deal with individual issues ,human labor is expensive,how much did you give Ebay (FVF fee) and how much does it cost to service one small seller?
It used to have a special customer service for any item sold for $1k and up,now $1k is not good enough to warrant special attention.
You either have to find another venue or put up with it.

Exactly what people are doing

But the small time sellers are also usually the guys that buy the a lot on ebay as well.

If they stop selling there they will also stop buying there.
