eBay Domestic shipping BUG?
 

Hello fellow sellers.

Buyer placed an order on 14th of Jun, I shipped the item day after.
Somehow he choosed Domestic shipping (1-10 days) and he is from United States, i am from Europe, he should have choose International shipping (10-23 Days)

Now he is claiming Item not received, package is still moving and it is not supposed to come in 1-10 days.

Is this Bug?

What should I do, should I contact the ebay Support?
I dont want to give him a refund because my packages cant arrive in States in that short time.

I have international shipping option which is 10-23 Business days. How the hell he choosed Domestic? And what should I do now?

How can an overseas buyer choose domestic shipping from a foreign seller ?
where did you say your item is located?
Is there any tracking?
Ebay has said at one time,I dont know if it still enforces it,if your tracking shows movement,it will extend the delivery deadline

My listing location is my hometown in Bosnia as I already said.
Thats the question How he can choose?

Buyer paid on 14th of Jun, shipped on 15th of june

What to do now, contact support? I dont want to give refund.

Hmm I wonder if the buyer is in Bosnia actually but found a bug in the platform to have you "dropship" to his own buyer in USA...have you messaged the buyer already to see what is going? How come he got domestic option? I think good step to communicate what's going on...

Contacted support. Domestic shipping on US site is Domestic shipping for United States Buyers, not Bosnian domestic lol even item location is in Bosnia haha.

Hello, contact eBay immediately and explain this problem.
Never say that you send from Europe, you have to say that you send it from the United States.

It is also important that you find tracking numbers from the United States, not international

we need to see the listing ,I doubt this is an EBay bug,if it is,we will hear from other sellers.
I have never heard of a buyer given a choice of domestic or intl shipping.

Did you sell it in ebay Com marketplace?
If so depends how you set up the shipping method and location,
the buyer can have choosen domestic shipping if you listed on ebay USA

It depends on his item location,buyer cannot choose domestic shipping if he states the item is in a foreign country.
Chinese sellers based in China will dropship from a warehouse in California,so the item location is in USA .

going to be difficult to do since member is shipping from his hometown in Bosnia...and not trying to cheat the system

if he said domestic,he would have to specify the name of the carrier,so Ebay can go to that carrier website and verify the tracking number.
It is not going to find a foreign carrier tracking number on a domestic (say USPS website) AND HE WILL lose the dispute.
I dont think this guy knows what he is doing !!

Can a buyer registered in a foreign country and give a US shipping address?

Per Ebay rep,if tracking shows movement,Ebay will extend the delivery date,
This is revealed in a case where a seller took picture of a local restaurant equipment supplier and listed a used kitchen equipment on Ebay,delivery by truck cross state line.
The buyer filed INR and won,got his money back on a Saturday,come Monday the item was delivered and the buyer ended up with a freebie worth a few thousand dollars .
It turned out there was some delay due to long distance trucking and the seller should have called the trucking company ,as they have 24/7 customer service but she did not ,thinking no one works on weekend.
She could also called on Monday morning and asked the trucking company to locate the truck driver and asked him not to deliver the item,she did not .
When she found out it was delivered,she asked Ebay to reverse the payment,but Ebay refused.
Then she went on Ebay seller forum and complained ,many sellers sided with her until an Ebay rep said if tracking shows movement,they will extend the deadline but tracking shows no further progress.
In this case,I am not sure how it works with foreign shipping?and how can a US buyer bought from a foreign seller and asked for domestic shipping?
