Default Maybe I should start becoming an eBay buyer and pay nothing

I have an item been sold for years, never have any buyer complain about the quality. Recently a buyer complained that some items were missing and asked me to send a new one to him and he filed an eBay dispute. so I wen into eBay and request buyer send the item back for a refund. and guess what, eBay does not even ask the buyer to send back the item but refund the buyer. What a hack ???

This item cost less than $10.00, not a big deal though, but this makes me start thingking, maybe I should start buying from eBay for all my X'mas gifts and file dispute to all my purchases, I would get all my gifts without paying anything .... good idea ?

ffs, give me your ID so I can block you.

OK, I think you are likely annoyed which is your right. BUT for $10 you could not give another item & create a bit of good customer relations? Give me a break: if $10 breaks you, stop using ebay. If you go ahead with your dumb plan you create more problems for reasonable, nice people. Just ask yourself wth your ego is so upset and move on. You had the chance to deal with this better & blew it.
What did you say your ID is?

Ya, I guess you're right. $10 is no big deal ..
But I was just wondering, if eBay provides an option for seller to request item returned for refund, why don't they follow their own rule, I even received an email before this refund from an eBay Rep to ask me how would I like to handle this and I reply nicely that I would issue refund if buyer returns the item. After all these processes, eBay still issue refund without asking buyer to return item? What is this all about ? eBay might as well just remove the option for we seller to request item return.

Just wondering, Is there any seller ever won a buyer's dispute ?

Hope others will post their luck. I have won x2 & lost x4. The x2 I won were close: involved begging (nearly) on the phone to ebay. Those that I lost where when I suggested the buyer(s) parents were unknown. Might add B4 I joined the forum.

I might suggest that if this happens again you try to control the flow with ebay: redo your listings regarding returns, shipping costs. Put a note in with the parcel yadda yadda yadda we are happy you made the purchase & if there are problems contact me yadda yadda yadda.
Both They Got Me Too & I contact buyers. For starters, I know ebay may give me grief. Grief means less money which is more grief

While the idea of ripping people off because someone did it to you is incredibly wrong. And $10 this time may not be very much. But, with the way Ebay is going, that $10 can easily be multiplied. I got 2 scammers just this week. One is going to cost me $8 - they are trying to get a freebie by using my feedback. The other would cost $80 if I hadn't used tracking.

I usually look at the situation when a dispute is filed. If I know I can win, then I hold out, kiss butt, try to work it out with buyer. If I can't, kiss butt and try to work it out with buyer - even if I am getting ripped off.

thingking - ahahaha

I sympathise actually , its not the $10, its the principle - you wouldnt get that at an online shop, theyd want a return first...

Most of it comes down to inputting tracking, or if seller or buyer for that matter has a track record of similar quarrels that counts against them..

i've lost about 8 disputes over the years.

this morning, i just had a dispute on ebay where she initiated it at 10:05AM. she escalated it at 10:07AM. then ebay tried to take money out of my account at 10:10AM. THEY DIDNT EVEN GIVE ME TIME TO EXPLAIN OR PROVIDE TRACKING NUMBER

The sale was made on 12/15. I shipped it 12/17. ITS ONLY 12/19 RIGHT NOW.

eBay NEVER sides with the seller. Which is why I always take money out of my paypal ASAP to not let them have it. I'll just start a new ebay account.. not worth losing hundreds over.

As a buyer, I always escalate straight away, why? because I always email them at least once and leave a reasonable amount of time for delivery...once that has happened, I want my money back NOW...

PP shouldnt refund straight away without allowing at least 3 days for seller to input tracking..thats wrong...that only happens normally when seller has more disputes of similar nature going or a track record...pp employee looks at that and thinks the worst..
