Is this a scam email? It came from an account in Colombia with 0 feedbacks and translated by Microsoft Translator.

When potential infringers are discovered in the market, Microsoft first wants to make sure they understand the serious risks they are taking and gives them an opportunity to correct their act before considering taking legal steps.
Microsoft has engaged us to monitor the United States online market and, in this process, we have learned about your Microsoft software sales on eBay. Based on the data gathered so far, the sale of Microsoft software products you are conducting does not appear to comply with the legislation protecting intellectual property rights.
Please cooperate by reviewing and, if applicable, removing offers that violate Microsoft’s rights and the applicable legislation. If you are unsure as to what is legitimate or illegitimate, we recommend you seek independent legal advice to ensure you are not infringing Microsoft’s intellectual property rights and the applicable legislation. Microsoft reserves all rights in relation to your activities. We hope that you will take note of and act upon this message. Please note that we shall continue to monitor your public software sales activities.

If you are selling Microsoft software it doesn't matter if you send it via USPS or private message, it is very easy to get your listings taken down.

Only with various copyright reports from different eBay accounts, none of them survive.

Take it as advice or use it against your competition.

No, but the message came from a non buying customer. I am trying to figure out if it is a scam.

Regardless, if you selling MSFT items...your account is at risk for issues

Of course its a scam, too ridiculous to be anything else.

On the assumption they know you're not stupid enough to forward an email address my guess would be it is a competitor looking to scare off fellow hookies or just someone bored trying to put a frightener on you.

Yes I agree, i think it's a competitor or someone who wants to mess with me. Agreed my account is at risk as well.

If you continue to deal with MSFT products, expect more of these kind of emails to come along with other kinds of e-mails/letters - up to you to rethink your operation and be ready
