Activity: 5% Longevity: 47% | | Any developments in stealth or eB selling recently?
Obv stealth is no longer a thing in the traditional sense and most of us have shifted out focus to keeping our existing accounts healthy. With that said, has anything materially change in the seller landscape in recent history? Last I recall the new big change had to do with reporting requirements and I guess how ebay was changing their promoted listings, and seems everything has been calm outside of those 2 issues. Is there anything else thats happened recently or due to happen that has materially changed the game? Jw

Yes,consumers are not spending as much as non discretionary items and services take up a big chunk of their disposable income.

I wasn't referring to stealth methods, just that op should have a read through the ebay boards to see whats changed on the platform itself. It was in response to this:-

I recalled a heated discussion on EBAY SELLER FORUM of a seller who took pictures of a used kitchen equipment from a local store and sold it on Ebay, used a truck company to ship it to another state.
There was some delay along the way and the buyer filed INR and got his money back on a Saturday.
Then it was delivered on Monday.
Seller asked Ebay to reverse the charge but Ebay refused, the total comes to more $1k.
Many sellers sided with the seller and said Ebay was unfair.
Finally an Ebay rep stepped in and said there is an Ebay policy,if tracking shows movement, the deadline would be extended but in her case, there is no progress in tracking .
The seller claimed she did nothing as it was a Saturday, but trucking company is never closed on weekend, they always have 24/7 support for their interstate drivers and she could have called and have them not deliver the item.
Even if she does not know they can be reached on weekend, she could call on Monday morning and they could easily contact the driver.
So if Ebay does not want to reverse the charge, then all she lost would be the trucking fees.
Now I think she may even be able to file a police report and given the serial number and photo of the equipment, arrest the owner of the restaurant for theft!
I know there is a case also on Ebay,a seller was scammed of an ice making machine and located it at a fast food stand ,he went with the police, found the machine ,verified the serial number and arrested the owner.
This is a piece of valuable information for sellers

I dont think theres viable grounds for a police report there. Yeah, it definitely sucks for the seller, but buyer didnt commit theft. He simply filed an INR case that the item was not delivered in the specified time frame, and he won it on the grounds that it was true. As sellers we all agree to eBay's TOS and policies when we sign up to sell on the platform. Buyer technically didnt do anything wrong, didnt abuse the ebay platform, etc. Not technically theft, but hey, if we have anyone with a law degree on here that wants to chime in here, Im all ears.
Second case sounds like a different story altogether tho

You can go to Ebay seller forum and try to find the thread,it is too old for me to remember when it was posted.
But the idea is -selling something you dont know ,selling something you dont have could cost you,in this case, seller does not know enough of trucking business, even with USPS,you can intercept the package by filing online.
I am posting this case because we were talking about Ebay reps monitoring its chat sites.
As to your argument that the seller did nothing wrong,he filed INR but then he had the item the next day,he should have refused the item, but instead he had it installed in his kitchen and use it to run his restaurant business.
You may want to ask your lawyer friend .
I know with most carriers, the sender can ask them not to deliver the shipment, either wait for further instructions,or return the shipment .
I recentyly filed USPS intercept ,paid $17 to have an item returned to me,it did but then it lost the item ?
