Accept Powerseller invite or not?

My ebay account is in my own name and address and was registered in 2005. I did have 2 ebay accounts and 1 was suspended indefinitely 3 years ago, fortunately they have not been linked. I think it was because I set it up under a friends name and address and then changed it to mine a few years later? I really dont know.

I have a Very Low policy compliance due to seller non compliance a few months ago (i was suspended for 30 days) This will run out on the 15th January. My DSRs are ok and my feedback score is 98.2%

I received an invitation to become a powerseller this morning. Do I accept it? Or will they look at my account more closely? They might find a link to that old suspended account?

Thanks in advance

Personally I don't accept when I get the invite.

There are few benefits for stealth users (discounts, phone support or a dedicated account manager aren't something I particuarly want or need) and your account will get more scrutiny.... especially with regards to compliance issues.

Don't worry. They will not look your account more closely in any way after you become a powerseller. U're safe.

they will lol.

have you seen the new powerseller requirements...

Bulk automatic invite from ebay system will not.

captainjack1980 12-19-2009 08:55 AM

yes but once you accept your account will very quickly get flagged if you don't meet the new EBay model of perfection for PSs....

Very Good Topic!

Just like everything else, one would have to weigh the Pro's and Con's before accepting.

I actually don't see a down side to the Power Seller status.

I think it's more of an ego thing, some people just like to have the symbol regardless of the ups or downs of it.

digirally 12-20-2009 12:27 AM

It's not just an "ego thing"

wtf, there are so many features u can use on powerseller and ur search results are higher up on keywords = much better sales

Personally, i don't accept it. I accepted it once on a 1 year old account. I sold for a year perfectly fine, right after I accepted the PS invite, i got limited and suspended 3-4 days after.

That's the same thing that happened to me , I didn't think it had anything to do with being powerseller though, that just doesn't make much sense.

That's about ture.Ebay manager might will call you if there is something wrong for your account.I used my girlfriend's cell phone to verify the account and she did receive call once from ebay.I'm not sure if it was caused by being a powerseller or they would just call even it was not.

NZT 12-20-2009 09:07 AM

You could accept the powerseller status, the only thing that is important is a valid phone number, a cell will do. Just have your stealth details written down and available for quick access if they do call. Ie Stealth name address and DOB

NotGoodEnuff 12-24-2009 07:27 PM

I would have. It was more of a "status" thing. But, when Ebay rolled their Top Seller status and my PS account didn't make the grade, I really don't see the point anymore.
