| spacehelmet | 02-05-2025 08:14 PM | Address Help I got banned on eBay back in 2021 for what I’d consider a stupid reason, but I won’t get into it. It is what it is.
I got with my girlfriend in 2022– she was already a reseller on Etsy so we made an ebay together. We both do eBay full time now and use her current address (she lives with her mom). She technically lives with me, but we use the address of her mom as that’s her legal address (and my address is banned). To note, we live with my parents currently.
Within a year or two, her mom will be selling the house and moving to a different state. What do I do about the address situation as we’ll need to change addresses?
We have several acres of land at my current address. Because everything is so expensive in the world, we might build on the land within the next year. If this is the case, I will get a new address, but it will be a few numbers off from my current one. For instance: Current Address is 123 York St, New Address would be 125 York.
Is this okay? If not, what should I do? This has to be a long term solution because this is our full time jobs— we’re just normal resellers. Given that, I know if I use my current address I’ll be banned.
Is a PO Box an option? Private mailbox maybe? |

What if, for whatever reason, eBay asks for verification of that address, after the mom moves? |

What if, for whatever reason, eBay asks for verification of that address, after the mom moves? | you are thinking too much , ebay are not that sophisticated , that is why they suspend so many people
you can define a separate returns address on ebay , that address does not need to be verified
delivery address the same
it is unlikely that ebay will ask to verify the registration address if the account is established , they are not so much concerned about addresses but more about identity and in the US that is usually DL/passport and SSN |

Got it— so basically, keep the registered address for the account the same— I’d assume keep the “ship from” address the same too. When the time comes, change the “Return address” and the “Shipping Address (where I receive packages)” to a private mail box or something of sort.
Furthermore, what happens when she moves and our LLC paperwork keeps getting delivered there? |

I can only repeat , the more honest you are on ebay the more stupid you are. like down here some people moved , updated address , got suspended after new verification. if they had not changed the address nothing would have happened |

As far as the LLC itself goes: would I be able to change the address to it? Not even on eBay, but the LLC itself as well as the bank account associated with it— like what information is legally listed on the LLC. Or would eBay see that it’s changed? I think legally I have to change the address to the LLC itself after that house is no longer owned by her mom.
In other words, can I change the legal address of the LLC (because legally I’ll have to) and then just not change it to the corresponding address on eBay? Would that work or would eBay detect the difference? |
| murdered_by_ebay | 02-07-2025 10:14 AM | Re: Address Help you can change the LLC details where it is registered , on ebay it is better to leave everything as is
although I doubt ebay have information exchange for this in the US but in the worst case scenario you would not be suspended anyway but would receive a red banner asking for updated info |

| murdered_by_ebay | 02-07-2025 03:46 PM | Re: Address Help dealing with ebay is very similar to dealing with the police if you are a suspect
criminal defense attorneys usually say that even if you are guilty you should not make a confession right away but instead you (your lawyer) study the case and if needed confession can be made later but if it is done immediately your chances to improve your situation decrease significantly |
