Ebay auto feedback removal? *2025*

Anyone notice feedback automatically removed by eBay?

Recently I had a customer open a cancellation request, I didn't respond to it, he left negative feedback, it shows on the order page a negative was left, but eBay removed it? I became Top Rated this evaluation, but I've never seen something like this before.

I checked his account, it's aged but out of about 15 feedbacks more than half are negatives that he left. My other thought is it was removed because of abuse, but still, I have never seen feedback auto removed like this.

Wonder if there is a new algo that checks feedback abuse.

Same thing happened to me twice on 1 account.

The first customer missed her collection from collection point, left a negative as I deducted 40% (item was lost as I got a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ stealth address). It just disappeared

Second customer was my fault I promised them a 50% refund as the item was not as described (different material). I went on a mini break for a week and when I logged in they left a negative. I refunded them 50% and a day or 2 later the negative magically disappeared.

I think ebay is probably loosening up restrictions a tad bit because the current listings on ebay Uk from chinese sellers and domestic sellers are a bit wild to say the least (from a vero standpoint, dont wanna say too much dont want my comment to get removed).

But yeah it looks like there might be a resurrection so to say on ebay. I haven’t posted on here for quite some time but theres a real doom and gloom vibe here lately. But rest assured stealths alive and kicking, you just gotta know how to play the game

Thats really interesting, thanks.

Especially the second time when it was your fault, hahaha. I've done the same things.

Are you Top Rated?

Funny, my recent experience of the feedback removal.

Buyer purchased item, 2 in January, 2 in Feb. Opens return for ones in Feb claiming they are ⊗⊗⊗⊗ (they arent).

Returns two ⊗⊗⊗⊗ copies of the item I sent.

Appealed it to eBay as you do, closed in buyers favour but they refunded me half the value. Appealed again, and closed again in buyers favour.

They wouldn't remove the feedback he left claiming the item was ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

I sent them an Actionfraud number, the signed declaration of an incorrect return which they asked for and the original purchase receipt.

Nope, won't remove it.

They literally make stuff up as they go along.

This is a private account, 300+ feedback, never a single issue before.

Interesting observation! eBay does have algorithms to detect abusive feedback patterns, especially from buyers with a history of leaving excessive negatives.

Since you just hit Top Rated, it's possible their system is now working in your favor. Maybe eBay is silently cracking down on feedback abuse? Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this!

Same thing happened to me recently. Buyer left comprising feedback and was able to get it removed instantly. My thoughts on this it could be A.I working in on our favor if you have a history of successful transactions/deliveries. Also, one big thing is if you've refunded the customer, or not and buyer keeps the item instead of returning it. Could be obvious sabotage and abuse if anything.

I had one feedback automatically removed. It was about a late delivery on an order. The customer never said a word to me, just left a review that was like "USPS has had this for 4 days" kind of thing.

I also had similar experience of a negative feedback going away on its own less than a day after it was left. The order was fully refunded (buyer asked for return shortly after receiving). There is definitely some automation going on based on the pattern.

Wait... so your buyer bought authentic stuff from you, opened a case and they sent you back the non authentic copies ?

That sounds like a very elaborate thing they did

Right, if the transaction is refunded, the bots auto remove negative feedback.

It seems like it. For me have happened only once, but based on other people which shared same experience maybe thats one of the new automation bot features
