Ebay UK instant suspension after first listing
 

Hello ebayers,

I am facing an issue with Ebay UK..

I create an account using 4G data hotspot from my phone (fresh IP) , create account using my friends real name, address and info on a fresh user account on desktop computer. (new email , number etc also )

I wait a day or two then list my first item, upon listing I am instantly MC999 suspended. The item is a used £15 branded Lacoste tshirt.

I also tried another account created with the same method except I registered via the Mobile app, the same issue occurred except I got restricted instead of being suspended with MC999.

They asked me questions about the items I am selling, how much I plan to sell etc. I sent the info and got suspended permanently..

MY QUESTION
I am wondering for new accounts, is it best to create the account, wait some time, buy a few £5 - £10 items then after a few days / feedback received list a low risk item such as a book or low cost item that isn't branded, or will this also cause suspension? This way I seem like a regular user who just discovered selling on eBay? Then slowly scale my sales up into more risky categories once I have established some feedback / trust?

I am burning through my available friends information so I want to be extremely careful with the friends info I have remaining for creating accounts.

Or is new accounts being suspended / restricted somewhat normal nowadays?
I have my own personal account that I sold on a few years back with no issues, but the account had been aged with a lot of purchases over 2-3 years.

Im not at UK but have something similar since january.
Its better to wait till end of march.

About sell cheaper item. Its not needed. it's a foolish illusion that it has to be done.

Sorry it was a mistake, I have an auto currency browser extension. It was meant to say £5 - £10GBP items.

This seems possible.

Very strange eBay restricting new sellers though, especially ones that can pass credit checks.. all information is valid and real.

I have a lot of Paypal stealth experience over the years, first time really diving into eBay... massive headache so far:faint:

they randomly suspend new accounts , you just open many all the time and some will survive

credit checks do not matter , no one verifies details of new accounts

ebay don't care about that stuff , they have a certain quantity of accounts they allow to pass within a certain period of time , the rest get kicked out

so open , open again and again , more and more

details don't matter , you can use any bogus details you like. if an account survives you can change details later

Ebay is being a bitch now for me. It seems like random days they ban random accounts.
Luckily I have a few up my sleeve ready to use.
Normally around this time of the year they are more relaxed but does not seem like that to me.

Yeah it seems they are off the rails currently, very frustrating to hear you can do something perfect (although I haven't) and still get suspended off the rip

Have you been buying on the accounts before making listings? ...it's worth doing. Items that can show a tracked delivery.

No but my next strategy was to try this, a few 5-10£ purchases spread out over a week or two.

ebay are not that sophisticated , all the checks they are supposed to be doing are just a smoke screen. new accounts are suspended randomly , you can use any bogus details you like on them , you can also use bogus bank details

ebay do not check anything , they don't care , they just take down the majority of new accounts. it does not matter whether you are legit or not , no one will be checking anything

this is a perfect system for scammers , the honest little guy gets taken down , receives an email saying they are suspended forever and must not use ebay ever again. so they believe that and go away while scammers don't give a **** , they just open ,. open , open and open more because ebay do not do any checks on new accounts. also those emails stating that you are suspended forever are all bogus , they do not check anything and the same details can be used again - no one gives a ****

there are people selling on ebay for years with high value accounts , they also get taken down on new accounts while their old accounts do not get touched. and there is a simple explanation for this - ebay do not check anything , they suspend people randomly and they can not afford balcklisting of the suspended details because they know it is all random and if they start randomly suspending people in chain they will destroy their own business by taking down profitable long term sellers for nothing

so open , open again , open more , open all the time. use any details you like - no one gives a **** about you and you should do the same with them

Thank you again for more info, your message has gave me the push to turn my computer into an account creation machine until i get 3-5 working seller accounts haha.

So you say I can re-use the same suspended info again? It's likely not taken note of until ID checks? Also you say that using bogus details on creation is okay, I'm assuming if I can manage to sell successfully, I later change this when they request ID? Won't this be a red flag?

Such a strange and aggravating system for a company worth billions.

the joke here is that the actual MP verification is not even done by ebay , it is done by Adyen and they have clear rules for this , their documentation is public

even if you have bogus details on file ebay can neither verify them nor can they suspend you for this , it is all done by adyen while ebay is used as showroom where information is gathered and people get taken down after adyen send the info described in their documentation back to ebay

so all these suspensions of new accounts have 0 relation to MP and adyen

Yes I was aware of Adyen being a separate entity that eBay relies on for verification, but I did think that eBay would have had some responsibility in verifying new sellers.. very odd

The funny thing is, you can buy credits for 192.com and pretty much open accounts that last with details from an address you search for there and the electoral roll occupants...depends how naughty you want to be really...

I could never be that naughty, everything has to be by the book....:pop2:

Even if someone went down this route, eBay still suspends the new accounts.

Is anybody consistently creating new accounts without issues? Or is most new accounts facing these issues?

My accounts get reactivate message after listing and also i got low limits 50/700 instead of previously 300/20000

It's a serious problem currently. I think the limits I am receiving were around 500 or something like that also and 30 items per month.

Selfishly I am glad I am not the only one facing this issue though, as it shows it isn't just me... Thank you for your insight. If I come up with a solution I will be sure to let everyone know..

Perhaps we need to wait for eBay's systems to cool down, it could take a few months, this can't go on forever surely!

you can reuse details but this should only be done once an account is up and running. account opening you can do with any other details
