So this National Insurance Number Thing on ebay.co.uk

Any Ideas around this one people... ???

Worrying times ahead I think at least on UK accounts

there's no way to go around it. you have to put a real person's NI that matches that person's ID. wether it's you, your friend or relative. there will be people on. here selling accounts that use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ID's which is fraudulent. you may get around doing that in the short term or if you just wanna seld the occassional household item but if you want to have a busienss account, no way your account will last long with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ details

Is there a particular reason why eBay has increased much more security for Europe, namely United Kingdom? I know the UK is one of their top countries of focus, but why all the added security?
