Address Change
 

I am moving and going to live with a friend temporarily. I am going to open an po box at a third party. Should I change my address on ebay?
If I change it to the new po box address tweak would it raise red flags?

I wouldn't change your address unless you are expecting returns - opening a po box is a good time to create a nice back up account with this address.

Otherwise - how long has your eb account been active? Asking this q to determine if a change could trip flags

My account is almost 8 years old, its my only account.
I dont want sensitive information going in the wrong hands. Also ebay sent me a physical letter regarding IRS mismatch and possible backup withholding.
I registered my LLC with that address and I am going to change the LLC address with the IRS which might trigger another mismatch flag on my ebay if I dont match it with the irs.
I have NOT changed anything yet

temporarily shouldn't really matter. If it's in another country, it might look strange, but a city over, I don't think ebay will even know.

Better clarification - you got a physical letter for IRS mismatch...I haven't dealt with a situation like that

yes a physical letter was in the mailbox.
Should I wait to change it or dont do it all?

UPS mailboxes are better. If this is your only account, you should be able to afford it. It's probably most expensive in NYC, and I pay around $450 for yearly. If you did about 3 months or something it should be around $150 I think. That is far better because you can use a real address, and add suite. PO Box are always a red flag. Doesn't mean it will cause a problem, but you're smart enough to know it's a red flag, thats why you asked.

I wouldn't take any shortcuts with your only account.

Mom and pop post offices are cheaper than UPS by far
