Very strange, it's actually the first time I have seen a permanently suspended account get reinstated.
I contacted support and asked for more clarity about why it was originally suspended.
They said - Your account was previously permanently suspended for explosive growth, and that suspension has been lifted under a Global Trust Initiative.
Explosive growth
Anyway, at least I have another account in my real details for future use if needed. |
Re: Randomly had old account reinstated Interesting - while nice to be reinstated...the possibility for suspension could arise again - I wouldn't trust eb enough to just rely on this account thinking it's golden - but that's my thoughts anyhow |
| deebee80 | 04-13-2025 12:49 PM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated No I agree, you can't trust any platform, ebay, Amazon etc they could do a rug pull at any moment. |
Re: Randomly had old account reinstated Got exactly the same email last week about one of my permanently suspended accounts from a couple of years ago. |
| deebee80 | 04-15-2025 04:17 AM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated It does seem like they're rolling out a new policy and reinstating some previously suspended accounts. |

I guess it failed their risk assessment at the time, even though there were no complains or defects. |

| murdered_by_ebay | 04-15-2025 11:23 AM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated that is perverted ebay logic , reinstating old suspended accounts to increase turnover and mass suspend new accounts to reduce turnover
I guess this would be the logic Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde |

----she did not do anything, wrong, just listing/selling too fast and too many.
Not every suspended account will get reinstated . |

are your invoices legit? | In my case, everything was legitimate — real details, valid invoices, and I owned the brand.
I think it's a poor policy on eBay’s part that sellers are expected to start with slow sales. Amazon, by contrast, doesn't penalise rapid growth — they actually encourage it. |

| agent006140 | 04-16-2025 11:11 AM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated Ebay is a flea market,so there are more amateur /part time sellers selling his own stock or worse have no stock at all,and used ,parts only ,worn, dirty, knockoffs all are welcome.
A different platform |

Those members haven't said anything else since they started using the accounts, so I'm pretty sure they are still active. |
Re: Randomly had old account reinstated 2 years ago - hmm or maybe those members haven't been active in a while |

| solefoodbk | 04-19-2025 05:08 PM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated Wow, that's interesting. I understand why eBay would suspend accounts that are fast growing due to risk, but usually its a combination of factors users here don't mention. Like as you grow, you're receiving frequent INRC, or return requests. That is a bad combination.
Even with my business, I turn down money if I think there is risk. Not all money is good money. |

| agent006140 | 04-22-2025 10:29 AM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated Can you cancel orders on Ebay?
I know you can do so,but too many cancellations tick off EBAY,also I think Ebay would still charge a fee if seller cancels an order. |

It is more of an intuition.
During the holidays I had someone who spent over $2000+ on goods. Sometime in January he opened an INRC for a package bought in Oct, and did so because tracking didn't show "delivered". We both know it was indeed delivered, USPS just didn't scan it. He bought from me 5 other times after this as well. Never mentioned a package missing. So I messaged him and politely asked him not to buy from my shop again. I could not risk him potentionally doing this again when I know claims like his on an account with less than 6 months of selling activity is high risk.
One bad customer who buys from you frequently that decides to open claims can ruin your account depending on volume. Sudden spikes of claims by one customer then normal infrequent claims for others add a toxic combination.
Anyone that has their own website probably knows how important turning down money is because chargebacks = no protection & costly. So if you have high risk orders flagged by Stripe (risk score 80+), thats an easy cancellation. |
| agent006140 | 04-23-2025 07:30 AM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated INRC is item not as described.
INR is item not received. |

INR is item not received. | INAD is item not as described agent |
| agent006140 | 04-23-2025 09:51 AM | Re: Randomly had old account reinstated INAD,not INRC,thanks.
He said he knew and buyer knew the package has been delivered.
Not possible.
There is a small buyer in rural Mexico who buys small trinklets on Ebay, sellers would ship with no tracking and she would fire INR,too many times and Ebay suspended her buying privilege as she become a hazard to Ebay seller community.
She does not understand as she is telling the truth. |

RECAP:
Feb 23 - Account opened
Aug 23 - MC011 probably for increase in sales
Aug 23 - Appealed with invoices, refused
Apr 25 - Randomly reinstated - 'update in selling policies'
UPDATE:
Jul 25 - Listed a FMCG
Jul 25 - Sold 50 Items
Aug 25 - Sold 30 Items
Still on delivery + 3 day payment hold.
I didn't get around to listing anything on this account for a few months after it was reinstated. I figured I'd list one cheap, relatively fast-selling item until the payment hold was removed and the account was trusted again, then I could start selling more expensive items. As you can see, that hasn't happened yet. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:59 AM. | |
