| | | weregonna | 04-28-2025 02:09 PM | Why doesn't ebay allow me to use paypal credit? Is it ebay or paypal? I was trying to buy something from ebay and on the listing it showed "From £12.27 per month for 24 months with PayPal Credit*". Then I logged in and it stopped showing it. I could only buy paying the full amount. Why is that? Is it because ebay or paypal restrict me? Which one of the two? Yes, I was trying to buy using a suspended account.
In the past when I used paypal credit I always paid on time. What do you suggest me to do? Setting up a new ebay account/paypal account? I would like to buy some expensive items, so paypal credit would be a necessity.
(I went on paypal and it says that I have 1000GBP of available credit, so I guess it's not paypal restricting me) |

and paypal have always been like this , I mean enforcing rules which they do not make public like for example refusal to send funds to specific types of bank accounts or making people wait for weeks and months until they can withdraw to their credit cards and more
there is a lot of stuff there taking place in the background which they do not want people to know so that they can not circumvent |

| agent006140 | 04-29-2025 10:38 AM | Re: Why doesn't ebay allow me to use Paypal credit? Where do you apply for PayPal Credit?
You can apply online through PayPal’s website or through online stores that accept PayPal. When you select PayPal as your method of payment, it will give you the option to apply for PayPal Credit. Once you apply, the company will check your credit history, and many customers get an “answer back in less than a minute,” says Schmidt.
Existing “customers may request a credit line increase through the PayPal app, website or by calling customer service,” according to Julia Bass, spokeswoman for PayPal Credit.
--best is to call PAYPAL and ask |

there is a lot of stuff there taking place in the background which they do not want people to know so that they can not circumvent | No one reads the agreement when they sign up,some of these restrictions are probably stated ,some are just industry practice,eg credit card chargeback can come in 180 days, overseas chargeback can be up to a year.
some so called banks are not banks, they open accounts with banks under their name, you are just subaccount in their books, the bank knows you from Jack !
Also certain transactions are not allowed ,marijuana is now legal in some states but not with the FEderal government, most banks are members of Fed Reserve,so you cannot deposit your marijuana proceeds in a local bank unless it is a state registered bank.
You can read Paypal AUP policy on its site, the list is a mile long !
Some merchants do not accept paypal for good reason, like hotels, barber shop, massage parlor, how do you prove tracking?? |

He wants to buy on Ebay using Paypal credit | Issue could be likely due to eb account being suspended so some flag being tripped when trying to use pp credit |

She should contact Paypal to clarify |

She should contact Paypal to clarify | True about eb not owning pp but it's possible that because a suspended eb account was being used, there might also be suspension on bidding and paying...full restriction |
| agent006140 | 05-01-2025 03:59 PM | Re: Why doesn't ebay allow me to use Paypal credit? She said she has $1GBP credit in her Paypal account,so Paypal wants her to use that instead.
It may jus be offered to someone with no credit line with PAYPAL |

Since your PayPal Credit is still active, the issue is likely with eBay restricting your suspended account. When logged out, eBay shows general financing options, but once logged in, account restrictions override them. I recommend creating a new eBay account and linking your active PayPal Credit to proceed with purchases. | General recommendation is good - the new eb account might be ok to use pp credit initially - don't use the same registration info |
| agent006140 | 05-10-2025 08:46 AM | Re: Why doesn't ebay allow me to use Paypal credit? why not ask her what is her Paypal credit limit,if she has 1000 GBP available in her Paypal account, that could be the max she can borrow.
She can go to her Paypal account and find out,it has nothing to do with Ebay since Ebay does not own Paypal,it sounds like her Ebay account cannot sell but can still buy. |

OP said -
I was trying to buy something from ebay and on the listing it showed "From £12.27 per month for 24 months with PayPal Credit*". Then I logged in and it stopped showing it.
yes,she does have GBP1k credit with Paypal, but she wants to use another credit offered by Paypal on that Ebay listing, that monthly payment of 12.27 per month and that offer disappears when she logged into her Paypal account to place the order.
She does not want to use her GBP 1000 credit available ,she wants that special credit which has a low monthly payment.
If she uses her 1KGBP credit, that monthly payment is probably more than 12.27 GBP per month. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:43 PM. | |
