MC999 after re-entering bank details on aged account

Hi all,

After re-entering bank details for a the 3rd time to induce the bank statement upload option, my aged account was suspended just 10 minutes after. This is on a machine with previous suspended accounts but in different profiles.

I'm quite concerned it looks like periodically, the fingerprint / machine ID might be "refreshed" when doing things such as adding a bank account.

Has anyone seen something like this happen?

Around 8 months old, It's been used periodically for less than 1k turnover and there was no rush of transactions before the MC999. I'm almost certain it was linked to entering bank details again. I entered them several times already a few weeks ago before I had a different account suspended on this machine. The first time I enter them since that suspension this account goes down within 10 minutes.

What bank / account type are you using?

Re: MC999 after re-entering bank details on aged account

Santander savers, I was entering it 3rd time or so for the bank statement option

Re: MC999 after re-entering bank details on aged account

My question is why do you have to do it 3 times?
second question is are you on Window 11 or Window 12?

I've heard using savers now is a no go, better to use current accounts as the allow a direct debit, whereas savers do not.

If possible this will sort things for future accounts.

I believe after 3 times, they allow you an option to submit a manual bank statement, therefore verifying the bank.

However, I have no experience with this to know if it's true, I use current accounts.

Erm there is no Windows 12? It's Windows 10.
And as above yes I do it 3 times because 3rd time you can submit a bank statement to link any account.

What have you heard? I've been using savers and verifying them via statement for a long time.

correct,there is no window 12.
I have heard window 10 leaks,so you may think you are on a different profile,it can still shows

I heard exactly what I mentioned, that it is a no go now.. If it still works for you on other accounts then that is great, I haven't truly tested it.

I just use current accounts now, which work flawlessly without any issues.

From what you explained though, it seems this is the reason for your account getting MC999.

A no go in what way? Savers triggering MC999?

Again, I cannot confirm this but from what you have described it could be a feasible possibility.

Is the account holders info stealth or real? This is also important.

dabuds420 05-28-2025 08:21 AM

Re: MC999 after re-entering bank details on aged account

Then again, you are using a device with previously suspended accounts, but since they were on separate user profiles on paper it should be fine.

Are you sure there were no links to the other accounts? Not trying to sound condescending but it's important to know to help brainstorm the issue.

Okay but what specifically have you heard from others?

It's real info, also there are no links whatsoever, I've been running more than 10 accounts machine with no issue for years this way but this has got me suspicious especially now it's impossible to create more than 1 account per machine in a short amount of time.

I've heard that people are facing the same issue as you regarding using savers accounts and not being able to add them.

For years upon years using savers was fine, but now they are being declined. Better to just go the path of the least resistance and use a current account, that way there are no red flags or manual reviews on ebay's side. Especially for a new account.

Good that the info is real though, stealth doesn't work anymore long term. Does the info match the bank account owner?

Re: MC999 after re-entering bank details on aged account

When you say not being able to add them do you mean they can't get to the bank statement option or they get MC999?

All I've heard is that using savers isn't a good idea anymore, better to use current accs. If you have to force something multiple times then I'd stay clear of it, especially with eBay which can be extremely volatile for new accounts.

I did have an account fairly recently get suspended after first listing, got it reinstated then added my bank, 24 hrs later it was suspended. Sometimes these things aren't related to the bank but also the creation method used and the general trust eBay has in that specific account.

You cant reuse it on another account.

Yes, but it's as simple as opening another account and going onto the next one. They can try but they will not stop me.

Did you get an email saying your payouts are temporarily on hold?

If you enter same bank account to new ebay account, then they link it by it.

Yeah you are right 👍 if you add bank more than 3x times your eBay will get banned. I use savers too. It’s best to not force it 3 x times. Just add it and when eBay can’t take the deposit out to verify bank then your have an option to upload bank statement.

I'm not sure what you mean, why would anyone add it again unless they had the fail message about not being able to take the deposit out?

The bank statement option seems to be vanished :rip:

Not sure if I miss read your comment. But did you not say you tried to upload Santander savers 3x times to try and get the bank statement option up?

It use to just happen once after uploading a savings account which doesn’t accept direct debit.

Roughly 7 to 14 days later eBay would email to say we have not been able to verify your bank then their give an option of adding a bank statement.

I'm a bit confused as this doesn't match what I used to see. If you simply left it after the first DD fail then payouts would be on hold indefinitely, the point of resubmitting each time was that by the 3rd time it would unlock a bank statement option. I've never heard or been aware of that option coming up without the repeated circular process.
