I' started a new account in May 2025. I've sold about 5 items on it. I'm curious when is ebay going to restrict the account and ask if the items are selling are in my possession etc? they used to do that all of the time. I've already sold pants, and laptops etc

I have seen hundreds may be even thousands of sellers using stock photos taken from internet and they do not have the goods on hand,they seem to be doing fine.`
Are those laptops used or new?

Very difficult to predict - congrats so far...slowly build the account - maybe follow similar setup/operating steps for backup accounts to rotate on, etc

used. it was my own personal laptop that I factory reset and didn't want anymore

it is better if you take your own photo and write your own description

I wasn't using stock photos. only my own photos and I write my own description not AI

So what makes you think Ebay will suspend you?
BTW,there is a category where you can sell used electronic or any thing for scrap and parts and buyer cannot file INAD,some sellers sell used items there to avoid any dispute.

The ebay account is in your real info? name, address, details?

yes. in my real name and details. I just remember years ago. ebay would restrict accounts and ask sellers (what were they selling, is the item in your possession, how are you planning on shipping these items if they sell? stuff like that so I'm wondering when that is coming

afaik if ur account survives 1 month after first listing it should be good to go

Yeah, that question is typically asked within first 30 days, anything beyond that would be more of a serious restriction.

well the thing is. I created my account like May 6th, 2025 I started listing on it in the 3rd week of May

I cannot speak on recent account creation because I haven't done any lately. But account creation date doesn't matter, unless it was very long with buyer activity maybe that helps. Just as a lower risk candidate account, but the thing that really matters is the date you first sold. Thats when the clock starts.

That's good - slowly build and make backup accounts in the same fashion
