ip location

Does ebay care if my ip location is in a different location than where my account details are or where my items are being shipped from? if my account details are in the same country as my ip but in a different state then what?

Does eBay care in general?

Some may disagree, but I would personally say yes. They do have access to this, and it is just one of many things that will be accessed on any account that is ever running through their security checks.

I personally would try to minimize problems much as possible.

For example, if you got flagged ever, they will likely automatically assume you are drop shipping, which could lead to an immediate suspension. You can probably sell on the account without issues, but they can defiantly see these things with manual checks.

They do not care about IP location as long as it is within the same province / state. But their algo does care if you are using VM as oppose to bare metal device.

Camaro2SS is correct - as long as the country IP matches up, the same province/state is not necessarily important

Ebay will pay more attention to where you ship your items and the return address

In fact I use US proxies for my Canadian registered accounts. But of course when I registered my account for the first time I use Canadian IP.

But common sense prevails .
If you ask to list 50,000 items,do you really have 50,000 items in stock?

you need to stop dicking around in the forum.
Anymore bull**** replies like this or instigating arguments and i'll nuke you.

I warned you on dm once and this is the last straw.

if you're using IPburger residential IP, you need not worry about it.

simple.

You mean the residential IP that's static for just 1 account?

That'll work yes.

Having dealt A LOT with ebay CS I can tell you they absolutely do look at ip location, and yes they do care. I've had agents various times question it when I used a hotspot for example which keeps moving around.

However this is normal for anyone using a mobile so my guess would be this isn't a flag alone in itself, but, IF your account is flagged for anything else they will probably check the useragent. If it shows it's a PC and you keep moving around that would be a giant red flag.

Key is to avoid having human eyes looking deep into the account - sam999, just clarifying why did you deal a lot with eb CS...reinstatement issues? or...?

All sorts, reinstatement, feedback, defects, payouts on suspended accounts. Many of these things are from the past as calling makes no difference now

You cant carry a PC in your pocket and move around?

If they regularly see a PC flying around opposite ends of the country multiple times in 24 hrs I'd say that's pretty suspicious to me, as I said I had agents ask me more than once about it. They don't like hot spotting afaik which is why I asked in another thread if hotspot created accounts were really as stable as residentially created ones

I’d also add that if the PC is jumping across the country but the system time doesn’t change accordingly, that makes it even more suspicious.
