The Postal Service said it intends to raise prices 6.6% for Priority Mail service, 5.1% for Priority Mail Express service, 7.8% for USPS Ground Advantage and 6% for Parcel Select. Price adjustments, which the agency says are made based on market conditions, would take effect on Jan. 18. The agency adjusts prices based on market conditions.

I dont understand,since internet,USPS delivers many packages than before,which are more profitable than letters and newspapers and 99 % of small sellers use USPS

It is the Congress which put them in current situation.

Have you tried UPS ground?

There is a long line of applicants applying to work for post office due to its benefits,I have no interest working for the US government.

I ship Fed Exp ground for some items.

You can ship first class mail(no tracking),if the thickness is less than??

The USPS is currently screwed by owed retirement agreements. Just this year, they lost roughly 9 billion. When you read the fine print of the expenses, they will have to pay them until 2043.

The postal service would be profitable at this point, but we are simply paying off old debt from poorly negotiated plans.

Those "strategic" increases, as they put them, are simply nibbling at the debt while choking out reasonable shipping rates based on the weight of packages to consumers.

Sadly, the only real fix to this would be a government bailout, but it seems they'll allow the consumers be exposed to more inflation and covered the bailout with the inceased rates.

Usps is high AF and they going up again. Seems like they went up 2 times in the past year. Its BS! Something that weights litte over a lb cost 7 bucks to ship and thats with minimum dimensions its insane

Not to derail the thread but agent, have you ever considered employment with USPS? Seems like something that you could leverage into your operations and provide lot of info for discussion...

USPS is now almost $6 to ship Ground Advantage (first class), had to increase prices slightly to compensate...

They don't let 3D objects (example lipstick) ship by first class, they automatically bill you for Ground Adv which starts at around $6.
There used to be a lightweight parcel select for volume sellers but I dont see that anymore

Are you saying it may be 1/4 inch but hard object,it wont pass?
No one is going to pay 6.95 for lipstick,try to bundle with other cosmetic items

I just printed USPS shipping label going from TX to AL on Ebay ,3 ounces and shipping is only $5.07(USPS ground advantage with tracking)
I used a box 3 by 2 by 2 .
Your lipstick is less than 1 ounce,so I dont see how you will pay more

The screwed small items under 20 bucks with this. Even if it were a tube of lipstick, they'll still make you pay, basically like it's an 8-oz package. I've tried to play with the value, and it's got a base limit depending on zone to zone.
