I recently noticed a seller who seems to have built an entire strategy around replying to positive feedback. Unlike most sellers who don't respond at all, this one:
- Replies to every single positive review, no exceptions
- Writes detailed, personalized responses
- Includes part (or even the full) product title in the reply
Sometimes they add emojis too, but the key thing is every message feels thoughtful, well-written, and aimed at building trust with buyers.
That got me thinking:
- Is it worth spending time on this?
- Could it help boost listing visibility in search results?
- Does it actually build more trust with buyers?
Has anyone seen an increase in sales after adopting this approach?
On the flip side could this kind of frequent and maybe “overenthusiastic” activity in the feedback section feel annoying or pushy to customers?
If any of you have tried this strategy, I’d love to hear about it:
- Did it lead to more sales?
- Did you notice more repeat buyers?
- Did it have any effect on your seller performance or status?
Would really appreciate your thoughts and experiences! |

Trust me even buyers who are leaving negative feedbacks understand that no one cares about their opinion. Most people do not care about feedbacks. Unless it's a product review like on Amazon then yes consumers do care. eBay needs to remove seller feedback or at least automatically separate between product reviews and seller feedback like Amazon does. It's so lame when you get negative because from a buyer who broke something during installation. How the F is it my fault ? Or I don't know the fat bitch did not lose weight in 30 days LOL! |

But from my own experience as a seller, negative feedback still hurts both in buyer trust and in the eyes of eBay’s algorithm.
So even if not everyone reads them. |
Re: Competitor replies to all positive feedback — does this strategy help? Negative feedback is rough but if it's very rarely then it gets pushed out as more positive feedbacks come in.
IF you get too many neg feedbacks, then you need to reevaluate your business model.
Responding to every feedback is nuts and waste of time - no way...unless you automate it |

But what I was really pointing out is a seller I came across who replies to every positive feedback and in each reply, he includes either the product title or part of it.
This isn’t just any seller he’s a top seller in our niche with huge sales volume.
When you search by keyword, his listings are always at the top, and this feedback strategy seems to be the only real difference from his competitors.
Might be coincidence, or might be part of how he builds extra trust and visibility either way, it stood out to me. |

That'd be a nice touch and gives potential buyers more confidence.
I personally like it when I see something like this as a buyer. |

Which for eBay dropshipping is a waste of time in my opinion.
The only thing you should do is reply to negative comments, defend yourself from your point of view without attacking the buyer, apologize and move on. |
| solefoodbk | 12-14-2025 01:28 AM | Re: Competitor replies to all positive feedback — does this strategy help? Some shop recently opened an eBay account I follow, whom I know has their own website. He recently got a few negatives from a customer and started doing this exact thing.
Personally, I know what the motive is, and I think it saturates the feedback response. What I think is smart, and what I do is leave a genuine response every 10 or so feedback. I think it holds far more weight than just saying the same thing mixed slightly in all your responses. It doesn't seem genuine at all.
The only place I do find this nice to see is Etsy because it's more independent.
Best time to actually do this is when you've already communicated with the customer before/during the purchase. Makes your response more authentic, and overall better than copy & paste for everyone. |
