Re: How to deal with chinese sellers?

All you can do is either find something else to sell, or provide a better quality product with better pictures/marketing and/or pay eBay a % to promote your listings.

You have to either find a way to match their prices with your goods being in the West or slightly undercut them.

Another thing is a lot of buyers on eBay would prefer to purchase from their country of origin than China.

That being said, if their prices are much lower, people will purchase from them as at the end of the day everyone wants to save money..

I like to steal stuff back from them - reverse engineer products they stole from here, then make changes to it they cannot do easily...

Got any examples of times you've done this?

Most of my stuff is wholesaled from China, I guess you could say I compete with them.

I dont have any good strategies tbh. If the space is hot enough I have found I can still carve my little niche in there even if they sell cheaper. Sometimes I outsell them sometimes I dont. I somehow do well enough that I havent been priced out yet

Best advice I can give? Idk, but Ive noticed the Chinese sellers often use Amazon style listing photos and text copy's with typos galore and your typical "Chinglish" descriptions. Often my listings are better written, my photos are either custom/taken by hand or if I do use stock photos, I add a lot of photoshop sexiness to spruce them up. Im guessing my success is due to that, when I *am* successful I do tend to lead the categories Im in. Recently some Chinese sellers have started stealing my images and descriptions and the drop-off has been pretty dramatic. Can't report them like I used to.

Is what it is. Im still here.

Actually it's Amazon copying Chinese sellers listing styles because they 1:1 resell their low quality products and up-charge crazy! Amazon are even too lazy to take their own pictures

Check it out for yourself, 90% of the generic items you'll find for sale on Amazon have their pictures being used on sites such as Alibaba.. Shameless

Back on topic that sounds good and also, the greatest distinction we have against them is that we are based in the West, so if you have the ability to bulk buy and store goods in the country your selling in, more people would be inclined to purchase directly from you and receive their order within a few days, as apposed to a few weeks/months, although some China suppliers have agents in the west but that's another conversation.. They mostly operate from mainland I believe

If you got your access to the marketplace revoked due to selling prohibited or counterfeit items, your best bet is to send support proof that it's not counterfeit (make one up) it could pass, it could not I've passed it before but it's hit or miss really and feels like they use automation for the decision.

If this isn't your first time having been warned on that account you'll need a new one.
