I added a bank and ebay immediately ask verification
 

Hey,

I just added my bank info, and eBay immediately flagged it for verification. They’re asking for my ID, address, and bank confirmation (either through a deposit or a direct login).

Is it normal now for eBay to demand both of these right away? Usually, I don’t see this stuff until after I've made some sales, but this happened the second I added the bank.

Doing a direct login is a standard part of adding a bank account to ebay for withdrawals. In my experience they'll barely allow anyone to do the micro deposit method anymore.


So yeah I'd say this is normal.



When was the last time they allowed you to make sales without confirming your bank account?

What are you talking about ... They never stopped micro deposits. Do you even make accounts or did you stop 10 years ago.

They selectively allow microdeposits is what I've noticed.
On some banks, microdeposits are an option.
On others, NOT. BUT... If you've verified a bank with microdeposits earlier, you can add the bank thta usually does not allow you to get microdeposits later, and it will allow you microdeposits as an option.:smash:

And on topic. YES, they do it a lot lately, and usually it's when they are suspicious of your account. By chance have you used that same bank account on another ebay account prior?

It is better that way,so it will deposit your sales proceeds faster .

Sorry but it has nothing to do with your bank. I use the same exact bank on multiple accounts and each time it resulted in something completely different. With my LLC they did not even ask me to verify my bank ! On another account where I used the same bank they asked me for micro deposits but afterwards asked me for bank statement. When I contacted eBay the agent claimed because the bank is not on the list , it means some banks cannot be connected to eBay. Of course she was full of ****! These agents have zero clue! They are spewing misinformation because they have zero understanding. Hence why they work as customer service reps for ebay. The real reason why ebay requests for your bank statement is because they were not able to verify your identity and it has nothing to do with bank verification.
