| J4G3D | 04-20-2026 04:36 PM | UK 5 day review .... Had a stealth account set up many many years ago. After MP came out I put it in my own real name. Everything running great for years until today... I get this email...
We wanted to let you know that your payouts have been placed on a temporary hold. This may have happened for a variety of reasons-to learn more, you can check out our Payments on hold page.
We understand it's important you receive your money quickly so we're reviewing and verifying some of your account information and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Here's what you need to know
You can still list and sell items on eBay as usual
The review process may take up to 5 business days. During our review, you'll see a banner under your account's Payments tab indicating a payout hold
The banner will be removed once your payout hold is released, and your payouts will resume based on your regular schedule |

Only thing that happened 2 or 3 days ago was a case opened against me from a buyer. But I have full 100% feedback.
I guess they'll soon ask me for invoices of this product maybe? |

Buyer opened return, I accepted and that should be it. |

Buyer opened return, I accepted and that should be it. | Hopefully it should be it - no other previous cases or heavy neg feedback? |

17 returns in the last year
Obviously many people abuse the "not as described" or "item is defective" system. When only 20% are really defective.
The odd "doesn't fit" and the odd "ordered by mistake
The case that's currently open, I've not received one for this particular item. That's also a lie from the buyer, I know that without even getting the item back yet.
But it is what it is.
I can't find any other instances on here of the same situation as me? Where a case was open and a review was made. Would have liked to have read some examples to know what to expect so I'm prepared |
| Jigsaw | 04-23-2026 12:27 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... I received many of these. The review usually lifts exactly after 5 days. They do not let you know, the red banner just disappears and will be able to withdraw your balance as usual. If any issues, they will contact you which can result in information request like invoices or to resolve any open return requests. |
| james_112233 | 04-23-2026 01:28 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... Had a few of these when I was selling high value items and really inexpensive items on the same account. The inexpensive items usually were sent without tracking so a lot of people pulled a fast one saying item not received so that account regularly had account reviews on it. Every time after 5 days it was lifted without any messages from eBay. I knew that was the trigger as soon as I stopped sending items without tracking and added tracking numbers it never happened again.
Don't worry about it you'll be fine. |

Review complete and I withdrew my funds.
No further action. |

| solefoodbk | 04-25-2026 02:57 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... I have been selling on my current account for over 1 1/2 years now without a single "periodic review". I used to get them on older accounts, but they usually were due to my selling behavior. It wasn't a random review. Unless they've declined usage of this which is entirely possible.
Ebay cares about ITNR claims, and having tracking on your orders. That is one of the easiest ways to get a MC999. I think they care more about this than item not as described because they have risk in releasing funds early. So you can easily trip the red flag where they think you're draining the account without shipping orders.
ITNR claims are by far the easiest trigger to getting a suspension IMO. Even more than Vero. |
| dsdominators | 05-04-2026 03:26 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... It's a common thing eBay do randomly. Especially when there are ban waves.
I have accounts that have been placed on temporary 5-day reviews about 3 times now...
Nothing scary really, as long as no MC011 Inventory/Delivery checks are triggered after. |
| wisewords | 05-04-2026 04:10 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... 3 times in a how many week/month period?
and do they get triggered after sales? or updating acc info ? |
| Nimble | 05-04-2026 04:15 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... They get triggered when there is a spike in sales and orders don't have tracking numbers uploaded, sometimes I also get them straight after creating an account or adding/changing bank accounts. |
| wisewords | 05-04-2026 04:21 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... ok thank you...what would you consider a sale spike to be? 0 to 100..100 to 350... btw 2 sales |

| Nimble | 05-05-2026 02:27 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... The recent one I had my sales went from 200 daily to nearly 900 in one day, I did upload tracking straightaway but a review and then MC011 was triggered, in my niche there a lot of rival sellers causing metrics to go down. |

| Nimble | 05-05-2026 04:16 PM | Re: UK 5 day review .... I submitted creative invoices, and a utility bill, but was a permanent selling restriction. |
| wisewords | 05-06-2026 03:39 AM | Re: UK 5 day review .... unfortunately that was always going to be the outcome,AI is very vicious at the moment with alot of platforms, sad times |

| Nimble | 05-06-2026 02:42 PM | Re: UK 5 day review .... I think eBay want to prevent any kind of fraudulent activity from buyers and sellers.
Just recently I had few instances where eBay refunded the buyer out of their own very very very deep pockets, I was covered under the seller protection. |
