I haven't seen this - did you try on a diff computer / diff IP?

Happened to me today, I'm across the globe on holiday, I ended up buying a static residential IP from ipburger so I can access eBay and buy labels to ship out orders. (Got someone working for me back in the UK).

But eBay's now working again !

Yeah happened to me, but after 5 minutes and refreshing the browser it is working fine again.

There were some significant outages yesterday. My postage software denied me access to the eBay API and when I logged on today I had to reset my password.


Probably just some kind of moves behind made behind the scenes.

Yes it was occurring to several people last night and some this morning again. I too suspect they are migrating to a new system on the backend and not telling anyone about it...

Great, eBay going to add even more AI.

Now when you create accounts, they just don't want a selfie, they want a stool and urine sample along with it.

Absolutely appalling.

Let's wait and see what the outcome will be, at the moment selfie is not required when creating new accounts on the UK platform.

It's not selfie it's called biometrics. One of my accounts that got 500k and everything seems to have been fine suddenly got biometrics verification.

I don't remember any of these outages pre 2020. This is the second time in the last 2 months I've had issues. Last time I couldn't check my orders or process shipping labels.

Funny thing is they had the most active MAUs last decade.

I think whatever happened was due to AI being rolled out in "new innovative ways." Things seem to be working today but for the last 2 days I was having issues trying to print labels. First my stamps.com account somehow unlinked from my eBay account. Then I had to reset my ebay password. After that, when trying to reconnect my stamps.com account to eBay.. there was this weird glitch where instead of getting the "grant stamps.com access to your eBay account" page, I got the microsoft "enter your pin" window.. and then eBay created its own label via eBay shipping for pending orders, yet failed to print the labels. Fortunately I realized the tracking postback before printing duplicate labels.


And there's also eBay AI putting the pressure on, front-running all of my messages and suggesting replies. It's kinda unnerving.:noidea:

Can you clarify what you mean by biometrics? In the UK I've only ever been asked to provide government issued ID - so either a passport or driving licence. The biometric data on those documents is essentially the facial data embedded in the chip, but if eBay aren't asking for a live selfie alongside it, how are they actually verifying it's you holding that document and not just anyone who's got hold of it?
Genuine question because without a liveness check or selfie comparison it's hard to see how that's proper biometric verification - it's just ID submission really.
