got a verification request for business account after listing first item.
 

Okay, so I opened a business account and provided last four of ssn. And I got a i d verification request after I listed my first item. Is this a common thing? I put in business in LLC that is multi-owner or something like that, I forget, but it was multi something. Was there something in the process that asked for ID immediately? Or are there people that are able to open a stealth business account and never have an ID requested from them? I am trying to determine if I did something wrong in my stealth account making process. Thanks

Did you switch from private to business? It can trigger a verification request sometimes. Nothing a docs service can't fix ;)

I did not switch from private to business, I just went to business right away. Should I even try to make a new account give up this business account? it is possible that they would not request id? Or is this a process where it is 100% sure they will ask for ID when making a business account?

Why'd you choose multi-member? They're probably just making sure they have some responsible individual on file for the LLC.

I dunno, I just picked one. So you're saying that they generally won't ask for ID if you pick sole ownership ?

idk. I haven't started a new account in a long time. I'm just saying.. for an entity type like multi-member LLC, they're going to want some kind of verifiable person on file in case there's ever debt.

When I switched my acct's to MP a few years ago they didn't ask for ID. Single member LLC's..



It's pretty likely ID requests on signup are just the norm now.

ID verification will inevitably happen, just need a solid docs supplier and your g2g

multi or solo,there has to be a person behind it,ebay wants that person ID/
What about corporation,I see BBY sells its returns/refurbished,they cant be asking the CEO id?

Gotcha, so eBay asking for id from everyone now all the time. Haven't been needing to make new eBay accounts for awhile that's why, still some stuff need to get used to again.

Certainly seems like the ramp of KYC policy has been real from the get go of the new accounts, sadly.

Yep more so than not even when simply switching from private to business it can prompt a verification request, if your making stealth accs and are worried about this you shouldn't be. Regular accs are subject to this they just want something on file for confirmation purposes. But yeah it's probs best to mention your a sole trader if you have the option (1 man operation)
