opening a new account after restriction
 

Hi all

so my ebay was restricted, its past the 6 months and i have changed all the details on the account, but im sure they have the name and details anyway... im planning on opening a new account and am happy to do a business account, but am i good to use the same name under a different address? i plan on using a mobile phone and a sim card, no wifi, how likely is this to not get banned?

As far as I understand from the research I have done, they cannot link you by name or DOB alone. If I am wrong I am sure someone will chime in and correct me

ebay do not care whether you were restricted unless there were significant problems like fraud

in the vast majority of cases you can register again under same details and you can register multiple accounts too

ebay is not amazon , on amazon you would have to be concerned about this unless you are a serial scammer who is targeted by the system but suspensions for performance , high risk or just random suspensions by bots do not have much meaning to ebay

What about seller permanent restriction? Can still buy but they perm restricted seller account for counterfeit violations, even though they were unbranded. lost the appeal, can i still use same details you think?

I hear you, but I'd err on the worse side so I'd not risk even using 1 bit of the same info if this was my account.

I wouldn't be quite as categorical as some people. With an eBay EU business account, they ask for your full name and date of birth, and then require you to submit supporting documents. If you open an account using the same details as a previously blocked account, you run the risk of shipping orders only to have your account blocked overnight—with very little chance of recovering your money. Maybe it is different on eBay US/UK/AU

If you decide to go ahead with it anyway, try making one or two sales and waiting for the funds to be released before you start selling in earnest.

You can use the same name, DOB (doesn't matter) and fresh address, but you understand if you get hit with an ID verification (which will 99% happen with time) you cannot submit your ID, if you were banned off eBay you will need to use stealth IDs anyways, so it's good measure to use different name/details regardless.

No I been on my good cousin account for 5 years and no issues whatsoever. The money does goes into his bank account only drawback lol. They ask for his ID after a while he does it. I'm not changing absolutely nothing on there. I'm not risking it. I'm confused on what I can change and can't. First getting his account it was a big problem he would logged in and after that I would log in and we are in two different states. eBay was not treating that lightly.

why is your cousin logging into your Ebay account?
Is he selling as well?or just curious?

The account being discussed is his cousin's agent - not his own.

He is using his cousin account to sell,the account is linked to his cousin bank account.
My question is why is his cousin logging into that account?is he selling as well or he just curious to find out if any item sold and money will soon be deposited into his bank account.
His cousin would be getting 1099K from Ebay,one copy will go to IRS,he would need to explain he is selling for his cousin and not liable for income tax on his income tax return.
Is he being compensated for letting you use his Ebay account and bank account?

Why bother changing anything if your cousin is helping you out? Pay his taxes etc - his credit history is probably benefitting as well so...

how is selling for a cousin benefit his credit history?
I hope this bank account is set up strictly for you,and not comingled with his personal financial dealing!.

Temporary restrictions: These may be automatically lifted due to issues such as identity verification, seller performance, or payment problems.

I'm not sure it's that simple. Early in their sales journey, any account can be permanently suspended with the explanation that it's a risk to the community and support won't be able to help. One rule: multiple stable accounts at the same time, so you can be interchangeable if something happens.

Could you tell me whether using the guide gives you a 100 percent chance of creating an account, or is it just good reading with useful information? I’m looking for knowledge.

The guide itself is somewhat dated so it can't be used alone to create accounts. You learn the basics from it and then read around the forum for "hot topics" and "current issues"...

Mobile data alone won’t make the new account completely separate. If eBay allows you to register again, keeping the browser session and network consistent matters more than constantly changing things. A separate profile in an antidetect browser can keep cookies and sessions isolated, but it won’t solve a restriction tied to the seller identity itself.

I’m still fairly new to this page setup and I’ve read the ebay stealth book but I seem to be missing or misunderstanding something and I was just wondering if you might be able to help answer some of my questions. Allow me to tell you a bit about my situation. I had an excellent seller rep for many years but my account was suspended indefinitely about 2 years ago. I haven’t tried making a stealth account yet because when I start the process I get hit with provide social security number. I was planning on using an EIN but I still need to set up an LLC but didn’t realy want to spend 100.00 if there was a cheaper much easier way around all this. I haven’t tried using my ss# because I figure they’ll surely link that to my old account and I will be shut down immediately. I don’t plan on making this an eBay account with many other accounts spawned off of it or doing over 20,000 in sales a year I just want a normal account that I can use to make a about 10 grand a year. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any advice you could lend would be greatly appreciated and not forgotten. 😎

The stealth book is dated in details but principles are always good to understand - to be supplemented with reading around the forum.

I wouldn't use the same SSN because of the old link. 100.00 spending on an EIN/LLC isn't really that much if you look at having a secure account...perhaps there are cheaper fees in other states/methods of application?
