Default Accessing accounts from abroad

Could anyone advise these days how likely taking a laptop with aged accounts on to manage from WiFi abroad would be to cause any issues?

I would assume it shouldn't be an issue for aged accounts but one can never be too sure..

To be clear I mean keeping everything the same as a home set up but with a new foreign IP, the device ID will stay the same.

Don't risk using a foreign IP

I use a 4G Dongle with a UK SIM with data roaming when I'm abroad so I still have a UK IP.

You could setup a VPN via the router on your home connection before you leave.. if you're motivated enough to look into it. Then it would appear as if you're accessing your account(s) from your home connection from anywhere.

This is a screenshot from my little $40 tplink router but I'm pretty sure all modern routers are capable of it.

you can use from abroad under the condition that you have full access to email and phone number as this may easily lead to lockout

Just use mobile data when you’re abroad. Country doesn’t matter.

Tricky situation - don't use open foreign wifi IP that's for sure - the VPN option via your home router is good - the 4g dongle is also good but @ft16, do all UK sims give UK IP when roamimg abroard? or only certain providers

As far as I know the main UK providers all work the same, with the data going back to the home network when roaming.

The same should be true for most countries 'traditional' mobile providers, as that's how most roaming agreements worked when they were negotiated 10-20 years ago.

I'm not sure it would work the same way with newer mobile providers, or with 5G and it almost certainly wouldn't work with specialist travel sim/eSIM providers.

I'd suggest having sim's from a couple of providers and a backup plan as well if its your first time, and making sure your model of dongle/mifi router will work on the mobile frequencies in the country you're visiting.

You might also run into problems if you were away from your home country for prolonged periods as well, ie. for months rather than weeks.

Aged accounts, just setup them up on a UK proxy IP, this way you can connect from anywhere in the world and eBay will only ever see the same consistent IP.

UK Proxy IP sounds rough for the setup.

Quite the opposite, I don't know if you operate multiple accounts, I have accessed accounts this way with no issues.
For aged trusted accounts eBay are more relaxed as long your service metrics are strong, they are extremely strict when creating new accounts.

Right on - that use is rough when you create new accounts but if you're accessing them with the proxy IP after long use and solid metrics, that's great to see
